En 2019, le groupe de post hardcore italien Winter Dust sortait l’excellent Sense By Erosion. Aujourd’hui le groupe sort un nouvel album, cette fois-ci complètement en italien, intitulé Unisono. J’avais découvert le groupe avc leur EP Thresholds et intantanément adoré ce qu’ils proposaient, autant vous dire que j’ai hâte de découvrir ce que le groupe propose dans ce nouvel album. L’album sera disponible via Voice of The Unheard, Time As A Color, Dingleberry Records et Shove Records.

On commence cet album avec la douceur du riffs de « La Decisioni Degli Altri ». Puis une autre guitare ainsi que la batterie et la basse arrivent pour un morceau toujours sur le fil entre douceur et rage. La musique des italiens prends une autre dimension avec des paroles dans leur langue natale. Une vraie réussite qui montre que la ligne entre post rock et post hardcore est toujours aussi fine dans la musique de la formation. Les screams collent parfaitement avec la première appellation tandis que les sonorités douces rejoignent plutôt la seconde, mais on est toujours dans une musique de grande qualité quoi qu’il arrive.
On croirait presque une fusion entre Birds In Row et Toundra! Un mélange heureux qui se révèle morceau après morceau avec toujours cette nouveauté apportée par le chant en italien. Le groupe nous plonge dans son monde sans effort et un morceau comme « Songo Breve » réussira à largement se faire une place parmi les favoris des auditeurs.
Après le single « Stanza » qu’on vous laisse découvrir juste ici, le groupe propose deux morceaux écrits et interprétés en collaboration avec le duo Six Impossible Things avec la douce voix de Nicole Fodritto s’ajoutant à celle de Marco Vezarro. Ces deux titres dont le majestueux « Due Novembre » sont de vraies merveilles auditives à écouter encore et encore.
Le dernier titre « Unisono » vient nous cueillir une dernière fois et clôturer cette magnifique nouvelle proposition des italiens. On se laisse porter par la beauté de chaque note en se disant que le groupe sait nous émouvoir à chaque instant.
Winter Dust ont fait fort avec Unisono! Tout premier album en italien de leur histoire, il parvient à transmettre tout autant voir plus d’émotions que les précédents en langue anglaise. Une merveille toujours a cheval entre deux genres similaires et si lointains à la fois. Foncez écouter cet album! Je n’ai plus qu’un rêve, enfin voir le groupe en live!

In 2019, Italian post hardcore band Winter Dust released the excellent Sense By Erosion. Today the band releases a new album, this time completely in Italian, called Unisono. I discovered the band with their EP Thresholds and loved what they had to offer, so I can’t wait to discover what they have to offer on this new album. The release will be available via Voice of The Unheard, Time As A Color, Dingleberry Records et Shove Records.
We start this album with the softness of the riffs of « La Decisioni Degli Altri ». Then another guitar as well as drums and bass arrive for a track always on the edge between softness and rage. The music of the Italians takes another dimension with lyrics in their native language. A real success that shows that the line between post rock and post hardcore is still as fine in the music of the band. The screams fit perfectly with the first name while the soft sounds are more in line with the second, but we are still in a high quality music whatever happens.
It almost sounds like a fusion between Birds In Row and Toundra! A happy mix that reveals itself track after track with always this novelty brought by the Italian vocals. The band plunges us into their world effortlessly and a track like « Songo Breve » will largely succeed in taking its place among the listener’s favourites.

Winter Dust have done a great job with Unisono! The very first album in Italian in their history, it manages to transmit just as much or even more emotion than the previous ones in English. A marvel that always straddles the line between two similar genres and so far away at the same time. Go and listen to this album! I only have one dream left, to finally see the band live!
