Notre rencontre avec Tarah Who ? s’est fait au tout début de cette année, en première partie de Life Of Agony sur la belle scène du Black Lab. La Française, expatriée à Los Angeles propose ce 28 avril son tout nouvel album via M&O Music, intitulé The Collaboration Project, qui vient nous faire découvrir tout ce qui se trame dans la tête de Tarah, accompagné de ses plus belles collaborations sous forme de featuring, ou dans ces acteurs de l’ombre, le tout avec une bonne dose de gros riffs de rock et de grunge.

Du rock à l’état brut, c’est bien ce que Tarah Who ? est venu défendre avec cet album. Et dès le premier morceau « Asian Blood », le rythme est donné, même chanté ! Le titre donne la pêche, autant d’énergie qui transperce l’artiste dans ces courts titres. Les morceaux rentre en tête facilement comme « Sell It To The World ». La grosse surprise de cet album se fera avec « R.A.D.I.O ». Son introduction d’une radio, ses interférences et ce speaker à l’accent anglais très représentatif de nos antennes françaises propose l’unique morceau chanté en Français. Et pour ce titre, Tarah est enervé ! On en a marre de ce quota de 40% d’artistes français. Devrait-on préciser notre pensée ? Oui, on aime entendre les français ! Mais on en a marre de cette soupe d’artistes français, toujours les mêmes, on veut des femmes, on veut du rock ! En tout cas, Tarah vient le chanter haut et fort, et sa voix en devient même plus puissante que sur les autres morceaux. Du bon rock contestataire, c’est ce qui a forgé notre scène alternative ! Parlant de radio, si il y a bien un titre qui pourrait y passer facilement, c’est bien « Canary Song », et ses riffs très américanisés. Les titres de Tarah Who s’enchainent en offrant un rock pur, brut, sans langue de bois, jusqu’au très bon « Money » et ses riffs très jazzy. Le titre est riche de sonorités et de sens.
Tarah Who ? propose un très bon album rock, grunge à l’image de ses autres albums. On sent l’artiste pleine de rage, qui sait comment faire des morceaux simple, mais d’une efficacité folle. On l’imagine assez bien défondre cet album sur scène, et on vous encourage à aller découvrir cela.

We met Tarah Who? at the very beginning of this year, as the opening act for Life Of Agony on the beautiful Black Lab stage. The Frenchwoman, expatriated in Los Angeles offers this April 28th her brand new album, entitled The Collaboration Project, which comes to make us discover all what is going on in Tarah’s head, accompanied by her most beautiful collaborations in the form of featuring, or in these actors of the shade, the whole with a good dose of big riffs of rock and grunge.

Raw rock, that’s what Tarah Who? came to defend with this album. And from the first track « Asian Blood », the rhythm is given, even sung! The title gives the peach, as much energy that pierces the artist in these short tracks. The tracks enter in head easily as « Sell It To The World ». The big surprise of this album will be with « R.A.D.I.O ». Its introduction of a radio, its interferences and this announcer with the English accent very representative of our French antennas proposes the only song sung in French. And for this title, Tarah is enervé! We are fed up with this 40% quota of French artists. Should we clarify our thoughts? Yes, we like to hear the French! But we are fed up with this soup of French artists, always the same, we want women, we want rock! In any case, Tarah comes to sing it high and strong, and her voice becomes even more powerful than on the other pieces. Good protest rock, that’s what forged our alternative scene! Talking about radio, if there is a track that could be played easily, it is « Canary Song », and its very Americanized riffs. The tracks of Tarah Who follow one another offering a pure rock, raw, without any language, until the very good « Money » and its very jazzy riffs. The title is rich of sounds and meaning.
Tarah Who ? offers a very good rock album, grunge like her other albums. We feel the artist full of rage, who knows how to make simple pieces, but of a crazy efficiency. We imagine her quite well defend this album on stage, and we encourage you to go to discover that.
