A quelques jours du Rock In Bourlon où nous aurons le plaisir de découvrir SPY en live, les américains débarquent avec un nouvel album disponible depuis le 02 juin dernier via Triple B Records, pour une bonne dose de hardcore punk, à pleine puissance.

Le groupe n’a pas de temps à perdre pour nous balancer leur plus beau riff. 13 minutes, 10 chansons, accrochez-vous, ça balance à fond ! Dès les premiers instants, on se retrouve souffle coupé par la lourdeur de chaque instrument. On est sur une rythmique hardcore typique, avec une guitare aux sonorités punk pour nous lancer vers les plus beaux moshpits. Le chant crié est saturé et devient de plus en plus explosif suivant les morceaux. Avec des titres aussi courts, on aurait pu très vite voir le schéma assez répétitif se dessiner, et pourtant, le groupe arrive à faire de chaque morceau une composition bien à elle. Ils s’offrent même un interlude musical avec « Pay No Mind », comme pour un moment de répit. Et pourtant, c’est bien le tout dernier titre, « Hidden In Plain Sight » qui nous propose une composition plus calme.
13 minutes, c’est court, mais suffisamment pour donner envie à chacun de se ré-écouter l’album en boucle. Spy savent nous proposer un album à pleine puissance, avec une réelle composition. Nous sommes pressé de les découvrir en live, ça nous promets un beau moment !

Just a few days away from Rock In Bourlon, where we’ll have the pleasure of discovering SPY live, the Americans are back with a new album, available since June 02 via Triple B Records, for a healthy dose of full-throttle hardcore punk.
The band has no time to lose when it comes to unleashing their finest riffs. 13 minutes, 10 songs, get ready to rock! Right from the start, the heaviness of each instrument takes your breath away. We’re on a typical hardcore beat, with a punk-sounding guitar to launch us into the most beautiful moshpits. The screamed vocals are saturated and become more explosive with each track. With such short tracks, you’d be forgiven for thinking that a rather repetitive pattern would emerge, but the band manage to make each track their own. They even offer themselves a musical interlude with « Pay No Mind », as if for a moment’s respite. And yet, it’s the very last track, « Hidden In Plain Sight », which offers us a calmer composition.
13 minutes is a short time, but it’s enough to make anyone want to listen to the album over and over again. Spy know how to deliver an album at full power, with real composition. We can’t wait to discover them live, it promises to be a great time!
