Ce début de mois de juillet est plein de belles aventures! Après un super festival, il est temps de retrouver une de nos salles favorites de la métropole lilloise! L’Aéronef accueille en ce dimanche soir M83 pour un concert qu’on attendait de pied ferme! C’est les belges de High Hi qui ont été choisis pour ouvrir cette belle soirée musicale.

C’est devant une salle déjà quasi complète que High Hi montent sur scène. On sent le trio ravi d’avoir autant de gens prêts à découvrir leur indie pop. Il ne nous faudra que quelques secondes pour être totalement happés par l’énergie qui se dégage de la musique des trois belges. On sent que le public a envie de danser ce soir, et plus les morceaux passent plus les mouvements sont nombreux dans la fosse. Une guitare, une basse, un pad électornique et deux voix se complétant parfaitement, voilà les ingrédients d’un set très réussi! La demi-heure de set file à toute vitesse et le groupe nous remercie déjà pour l’accueil très chaleureux, mais il reste un dernier titre pour mettre tout le monde d’accord! On retiendra de la performance de trio belge, une véritable énergie communicative qui a largement trouvé son public ce soir, il ne serait pas étonnant de les retrouver très vite en tête d’affiche sur la scène club de la salle! En tout cas High Hi nous ont largement conquis et on en redemande!
Les fans sont prêts pour accueillir M83, et son chef d’orchestre Anthony Gonzalez! Le concert s’ouvre sur « Water Deep » morceau d’ouverture de Fantasy, le dernier album en date du projet et le public est déjà prêt pour bouger sur l’électro pop magistrale jouée ce soir. De notre côté en plus d’avoir hâte de voir en live ce projet qui nous fait vibrer depuis tant d’années, on ne pouvait manquer cette date car trois des musiciens sur scène ce soir appartiennent à un groupe cher à notre cœur: BRUIT ≤! En quelques titres on sait déjà qu’on assite à un des meilleurs concerts de l’année, autant musicalement que visuellement! Les morceaux des différents albums s’enchaînent et les fans répondent avec des cris et des applaudissements fournis. L’excellente claviériste Kaela Sinclair vient souvent mêler sa voix à celle d’Anthony pour des harmonies qui viennent toucher au cœur. Joe Berry n’est pas en reste et nous fait vibrer avec ses synthés. Les années passent et M83 reste toujours un projet foisonnant d’idées musicales toutes plus intéressantes les unes que les autres et « Run Into Flowers » ou encore « Don’t Save Us From The Flames » viennent le confirmer de la plus belle des manières.
Revenons à nos trois compères toulousains, on sent leur influence musicale tout au long du set sur la musique. Les fans de BRUIT ≤ que nous sommes prenons toujours autant de plaisir à retrouver Théophile Antolinos, toujours la tête penchée sur sa guitare pour des sons toujours plus majestueux. Et que dire du jeu de basse et de violon toujours empli d’émotions de Clément Libes ou encore de la puissance douce du jeu de batterie de Julien Aoufi. Le public en prend plein la vue et plein les oreilles mais « Sunny Boy » et « My Tears Are Becoming A Sea » annoncent la fin de la soirée.
Mais le public n’a pas envie d’en terminer aussi vite et toute la bande reviens sur scène pour le mythique « Midnight City », qu’on attendait tous avec ce sentiment très fort de madeleine de Proust musicale. Théophile profitera de ce morceau pour s’offrir un bain de foule en slammant jusqu’à la console son, aller-retour! Pour terminer en beauté le groupe nous balance un « Mirror » d’anthologie qui vient nous lancer une dernière décharge d’émotions et nous laisser avec un sentiment de bonheur qui perdurera longtemps après la fin du set!
La performance de M83 aura tenue toutes ses promesses, dans une Aéronef pleine à craquer! Anthony Gonzalez a su au fil des années nous proposer une musique toujours majestueuse, qui prend une véritable dimension supplémentaire en live! On salue la performance de tous les musiciens sur scène et aussi celle de l’ingé lumière, grâce à leurs talents combinés le spectacle fut total ce soir!

The beginning of July is full of great adventures! After a great festival, it’s time to get back to one of our favourite venues in Lille! On this Sunday evening, L’Aéronef welcomes M83 for a concert we’ve been waiting for! Belgian band High Hi have been chosen to open this wonderful evening of music.

High Hi took to the stage in front of an almost full house. The trio are delighted to have so many people ready to discover their indie pop. It only takes a few seconds to get caught up in the energy of the Belgian trio’s music. You can feel that the audience wants to dance tonight, and the more the tracks go by, the more the pit moves. A guitar, a bass, an electornic pad and two voices complementing each other perfectly, these are the ingredients of a very successful set! The half-hour set flew by and the band were already thanking us for the warm welcome, but there was still one last track to get everyone on their feet! We’ll remember the Belgian trio’s performance for its infectious energy, and it was a crowd-pleaser this evening, so it wouldn’t be surprising to see them headlining the venue’s club stage very soon! In any case, High Hi won us over and we’re asking for more!
The fans are ready to welcome M83 and their conductor Anthony Gonzalez! The concert opens with « Water Deep », the opening track from Fantasy, the project’s latest album, and the audience is already ready to move to the masterful electro-pop played tonight. As well as looking forward to seeing live this project that has been thrilling us for so many years, we couldn’t miss this date because three of the musicians on stage tonight belong to a band dear to our hearts: BRUIT ≤! Just a few songs in, and we know we’re in for one of the best concerts of the year, both musically and visually! Songs from the various albums come thick and fast, and the fans respond with loud cheers and applause. The excellent keyboardist Kaela Sinclair often mixed her voice with Anthony’s for harmonies that touched the heart. Joe Berry is not to be outdone, thrilling us with his synths. As the years go by, M83 remains a project brimming with musical ideas, each more interesting than the last, and ‘Run Into Flowers’ and ‘Don’t Save Us From The Flames’ confirm this in the most beautiful of ways.
Back to our three Toulouse mates, you can feel their musical influence throughout the set on the music. As BRUIT ≤ fans, it’s always a pleasure to catch up with Théophile Antolinos, his head still bent over his guitar to produce ever more majestic sounds. And what can we say about Clément Libes‘ bass and violin playing, always full of emotion, or the gentle power of Julien Aoufi‘s drumming? The audience were in for a treat, but « Sunny Boy » and « My Tears Are Becoming A Sea » signalled the end of the evening.
But the crowd didn’t want it to end so quickly, and the whole band returned to the stage for the legendary « Midnight City », which we’d all been waiting for with a strong feeling of musical Proust’s madeleine. Théophile took advantage of the song to take a dip in the crowd, slamming all the way to the sound console and back! To round things off in style, the band hit us with an anthology of « Mirror », a final burst of emotion that left us with a feeling of happiness that would last long after the set was over!
M83‘s performance lived up to all its promises, in a packed Aeronef! Over the years, Anthony Gonzalez has succeeded in bringing us music that is as majestic as ever, and which takes on a real extra dimension live! We salute the performance of all the musicians on stage, as well as that of the lighting engineer. Thanks to their combined talents, the show was total this evening!
