On continue les rattrapages d’été avec du très très lourd. Last Night Of Solace ont sorti le 24 mars dernier leur tout premier album pour une dose de deathcore comme on adore. L’album a déjà accumulé plus d’un demi millions de stream depuis sa sortie, ca a de quoi attiser notre curiosité.

Et la surprise commence en force avec « Haunting » et ses riffs d’une puissance folle. On est ici sur une démonstration de force de deathcore, parfait pour nous happer dans cette écoute. Les américains n’ont pas peur de nous étonner. « Archetype » dévoile la voix claire de Cameron Foley jusque là cacher par son scream dévorant. Et pour contrebalancer la férosité, le piano trouve une place de choix dans le titre. Le groupe s’offre la venue de Aaron Isbell du groupe Concepts pour un featuring très mélodique avec un beat parfois trap en fond. Pas de panique, le mélange prends bien et ne nous empêche pas d’avoir un beau breakdown efficace. Le groupe a déjà tourné aux USA avec de gros noms comme Fit For An Autopsy, et quand on entends « Eldritch Eclipse », on comprends très vite pourquoi. La voix de Kalan Beal, leader de Notions nous est jeté en pleine tête sur « Rainfall », et on se laisse surprendre par ce scream rappé. Les guitares de Kennedy Boynton et Jeiden Lovell se répondent et forme un duo mélodique ahurissant. C’est sur « The Paths », morceau aux allures rythmiques hardcore, qu’on se rends compte du boulot sur la batterie effectué par Seth Andy. La puissance retombe légérement avec « Writhing » qui nous laisse un peu goût de « pas assez » mais on se laisse emporter avec douceur de « Alone ».
Last Night Of Solace nous délivre un très bon premier album de deathcore. La puissance de leurs morceaux présage un très beau futur, et aux vues du nombre d’écoute, le public semble prêt à les accueillir, jusqu’en France peut-être ?

We’re continuing our summer catch-up with some very, very heavy stuff. Last Night Of Solace released their debut album on 24 March, offering a dose of deathcore just the way we like it. The album has already racked up more than half a million streams since its release, so it’s sure to whet our appetites.
And the surprise begins in full force with ‘Haunting’ and its insanely powerful riffs. This is a demonstration of deathcore strength, the perfect way to get caught up in the listening experience. The Americans aren’t afraid to surprise us. « Archetype » unveils Cameron Foley‘s clear voice, hitherto hidden by his devouring scream. And to counterbalance the ferocity, the piano plays a key role in the track. The band invites Aaron Isbell from the band Concepts to join them for a very melodic featuring with a sometimes trap beat in the background. Don’t panic, the mix works well and doesn’t prevent us from having a nice, effective breakdown. The band have already toured the USA with big names like Fit For An Autopsy, and when you hear ‘Eldritch Eclipse’, you quickly understand why. The voice of Kalan Beal, frontman of Notions, is thrown right in our faces on « Rainfall », and we’re surprised by this rap-scream. The guitars of Kennedy Boynton and Jeiden Lovell respond to each other, forming a breathtaking melodic duo. It’s on « The Paths », a track with a hardcore rhythmic feel, that we realise the work Seth Andy has done on the drums. The power drops slightly with « Writhing », which leaves us with a taste of « not enough », but we are carried away by « Alone ».
Last Night Of Solace have delivered an excellent debut deathcore album. The power of their songs augurs well for the future, and judging by the number of listeners, the public seems ready to welcome them, perhaps even in France?
