To present their latest album, Tether, Of Mice and Men are embarking on a European tour in the company of Defects and Caskets. We met up at the beautiful Epic Studio in Norwich, England, for a great dose of metalcore. We tell you all about this explosive evening.

The surprise came from Defects, who opened the evening and clearly nobody was ready for them. The band took the audience by storm from the very first riffs, thanks to their incredible energy. The band wanted to feel this energy as closely as possible, and it was in the pit that Anthony Alexander (vocals) and Luke Genders (guitar) got together for a giant circle pit exercise around the band, which was a huge success! The room was already buzzing after 20 minutes of the show!

With the venue already full of energy, Caskets had the onerous task of keeping the crowd warm. Thanks to their mix of angry riffs and catchy melodies, they did just that. It’s fair to say that the frontman had everyone in agreement, with his high-pitched lows and screams. What a voice! The surprise of their set was the arrival of Oli Duncanson, lead singer of THECITYISOURS, for a beautiful featuring on the track ‘More Than Misery’. Oli is also the tour’s photographer and videographer, so you might as well make the most of it!

Of Mice and Men‘s long-awaited set arrived like a bulldozer! The first notes of « Bones Explose » rang out and the crowd went instantly crazy. As hot as a fire, the crowd went straight into circle pits and pogos, with incredible energy. Opening with a fairly old track (already over 10 years old!), we were worried we were going to get a setlist full of their old banger, but no. The English band are here to present their new album. The English band are here to present their album Tether, and these tracks from the new era are great! These tracks pass the live test with flying colours and are perfectly calibrated for live performance, helping to set the mood. Whether you’re a long-time fan or not, Of Mice and Men have proved once again that the power of their music can touch every fan, leaving an indelible mark on anyone lucky enough to see them live.

Pour présenter leur dernier album en date, Tether, Of Mice and Men s’élance sur une tournée Européenne en compagnie de Defects et Caskets. Nous avions rendez-vous dans la belle salle de l’Epic Studio à Norwich en Angleterre pour une belle dose de métalcore. On vous raconte cette soirée explosive.

La surprise nous vient du groupe Defects qui ont ouvert la soirée et clairement personne n’était prêt. Le groupe a embarqué le public dès les premiers riffs grâce à leur énergie incroyable. Cette énergie, le groupe a voulu le ressentir au plus près, et c’est dans la fosse que l’on retrouvera Anthony Alexander au chant et Luke Genders à la guitare pour un exercice de circle pit géant autour du groupe, grandement reussi ! La salle était déjà en ébullition au bout de 20 minutes de show !

Avec une salle déjà pleine d’énergie, Caskets auront la lourde tâche de garder le public chaud. Grâce à leurs mélanges de riff énervés et mélodies entraînantes, c’est chose faite. On peut dire que le frontman a mis tout le monde d’accord, graves aiguës, scream tout y était. Quelle voix ! La surprise de leur set se fera avec l’arrivée de Oli Duncanson, chanteur de THECITYISOURS, pour une beau featuring sur le morceau « More Than Misery ». Il faut dire qu’Oli est également photographe et vidéaste sur la tournée, donc autant en profiter !

Le set tant attendu de Of Mice and Men est arrivé tel un bulldozer ! Les premières notes de « Bones Explose » résonnent que le public devient instantanément fou. Chaud comme la braise, la salle s’élance directement en circle pit et pogos, dans une énergie incroyable. Avec une ouverture sur un morceau assez ancien (déjà plus de 10 ans!), nous avions peur d’avoir une setlist remplie de leur ancien banger et pourtant non. Les anglais sont ici pour présenter leur album Tether, et ces morceaux de la nouvelle aire font du bien ! Ces titres passent l’épreuve du live haut la main et sont parfaitement calibrés pour le live, permettant de mettre l’ambiance. Qu’on soit un fan de longue date ou pas , Of Mice and Men ont prouvé une fois de plus que la puissance de leurs musiques peut toucher chaque fans, laissant une empreinte indélébile sur tous ceux qui ont eu la chance de les voir en live.
