En 2021 à Limoges le trio Greyborn se forme et sort en 2022 l’EP Leeches qui dévoile leur heavy rock entre stoner et doom à la face du monde. Le 8 mars prochain le groupe nous dévoilera un nouvel EP intitulé Scars avec cinq nouveaux titres à découvrir. L’album sera disponible via F2M Planet, label autogéré par les musiciens.

La particularité de Greyborn réside dans le fait que la batteur est également le chanteur de la formation. C’est donc un Théo Jude en très grande forme qui nous fait rentrer dans le morceau titre avec son jeu énergique et sa voix bien rock! Les riffs de guitare de Maxime Conan sonnent fort et font de « Ravenous » une véritable petite pépite stoner qu’on a envie de se repasser en boucle. Les deux musiciens se connaissent bien puisqu’ils officient tous deux dans le groupe Blackbird Hill. Le trio est complété par Guillaume Barrou à la basse qui nous enchante avec ses lignes grasses à souhait qui viennent s’écraser dans nos tympans .
Après un morceau un peu plus tourné rock sur « A Thousand Dreams Away » ,mais avec toujours cette tinte stoner qu’on apprécie grandement, c’est l’excellent « Tetany » qui nous montre une fois de plus le grand talent du trio limougeaud. La prestation de Théo à la batterie est impeccable, tout comme son chant ce qui laisse songeur quand à leurs prestations live! Ce nouvel EP du groupe se clôt sur « The Grand Design », morceau qui pourrait bien être une nouvelle déclaration d’intention du groupe tant leur son a une identité déjà très forte qui laisse présager de très belles choses pour la suite!
Greyborn nous livrent avec Scars un EP de très grande qualité qui se ré écoute à l’envie! Le trio a déjà sa patte et nous marque par son talent déjà bien présents. On espère avoir le chance de voir le groupe débarquer très vite dans le nord pour des concerts! En tout cas on vous encourage vivement à écouter cet EP!

The Greyborn trio formed in Limoges in 2021 and released the Leeches EP in 2022, showcasing their heavy rock, stoner and doom sound to the world. On 8 March, the band will be unveiling a new EP entitled Scars, featuring five new tracks. The album will be available via F2M Planet, a label run by the musicians themselves.
What makes Greyborn so special is that the drummer is also the band’s singer. So it’s Théo Jude in top form who gets us into the title track with his energetic playing and rocking vocals! Maxime Conan‘s powerful guitar riffs make ‘Ravenous’ a stoner nugget you’ll want to play over and over again. The two musicians know each other well, having both played in the band Blackbird Hill. The trio is completed by Guillaume Barrou on bass, who enchants us with his fat lines that crash into our eardrums.
After a more rock-oriented track on ‘A Thousand Dreams Away’, but still with that stoner tinge that we really appreciate, it’s the excellent ‘Tetany’ that once again shows us the great talent of the Limoges trio. Théo‘s drumming is impeccable, as are his vocals, which makes you wonder about their live performances! The band’s new EP closes with ‘The Grand Design’, a track that could well be a new declaration of intent for the band, given the already strong identity of their sound and the promise of great things to come!
Greyborn‘s Scars is a top-quality EP that’s a pleasure to listen to again and again! The trio have already made their mark, and their talent is absolutely evident. We hope we’ll be lucky enough to see the band come to the north of France for some gigs very soon! In any case, we urge you to listen to this EP!
