On est instantanément plongé dans l’univers pop punk du groupe. Dès les premières notes, on ressent l’efficacité de “Nothing Left To Give” qui ouvre cet EP. Chaque titre est différent, et apporte sa pierre à l’édifice, toujours dans une belle énergie.  Le chant est partagé par Ole et Adrian, ce qui donne une énergie et une profondeur aux morceaux. L’aspect nostalgique, toujours plein d’interrogations et d’émotions troublées, est  bien présent dans les titres de Get Off My Lawn, à l’instar de “Falling”, morceau le plus mélancolique de cet EP. “Waiting” présente des mélodies qui restent facilement en tête et donne envie de fredonner avec les musiciens. La guitare de Felix nous apporte des passages enivrants, énergiques et mélodiques, typiques de l’apparente simplicité du pop punk. Derrière, Martin assure le rythme avec un dynamisme qui nous entraîne facilement. Les titres donnent le sourire, avec une pointe de nostalgie. “Feel Alive” a un refrain entêtant, qu’on chante facilement après quelques écoutes. On sent que les titres sont taillés pour la scène, et on se verrait bien entrainés dans une petite salle, entourés d’autres adeptes du style, à sauter joyeusement au gré des mélodies. L’EP comporte cinq titres, pour un total d’environ 13 minutes. Cela suffit à nous plonger dans l’univers de Holly Would Surrender et sortir de la torpeur automnale qui nous envahit. 

Get Off My Lawn! est une belle sortie de cette fin d’année, et s’écoute facilement. Elle ravira les amateurs du genre!.Encore cinq beaux titres que Holly Would Surrender pourra défendre sur scène!

You’re instantly immersed in the band’s pop punk universe. From the very first notes, you can feel the effectiveness of ‘Nothing Left To Give’, which opens this EP. Each track is different, each adding its own touch and energy. The vocals are shared by Ole and Adrian, adding energy and depth to the tracks. The nostalgic aspect, always full of questioning and troubled emotions, is very much present in the tracks on Get Off My Lawn, like ‘Falling’, the most melancholy track on this EP. ‘Waiting’ features melodies that stick in your head and make you want to hum along with the musicians. Felix ‘s guitar provides intoxicating, energetic and melodic passages, typical of the apparent simplicity of pop punk. Behind him, Martin keeps up the pace with a dynamism that easily carries us along. The tracks put a smile on your face, with a hint of nostalgia. ‘Feel Alive’ has a heady chorus that’s easy to sing along to after a few listens. You get the feeling that the tracks are made for the stage, and you could see yourself in a small venue, surrounded by other fans of the style, happily jumping to the beat of the melodies. The EP features five tracks, totalling around 13 minutes. That’s enough to plunge us into the world of Holly Would Surrender and shake off the autumnal torpor that’s descending upon us.

Get Off My Lawn! is a great release for the end of the year, and is easy to listen to. Another five great tracks for Holly Would Surrender to defend on stage!
