Les américains de Less Than Jake viennent égayer notre quotidien à grand renfort de ska punk. Il sortent le 15 novembre un nouvel EP : Uncharted, via Pure Noise Records. Un dose de bonne humeur pour nos oreilles qui réchauffe notre cœur !

Less Than Jake avait récemment et progressivement sorti 5 singles. Chacun était accompagné de qui ressemblait à un morceau de carte au trésor en guise de visuel. Avec Uncharted ils rassemblent les pièces du puzzle, nous proposant au total 7 titres et la totalité de la carte en guise d’artwork. On avait vu les américains cet été au Brakrock et ce moment avait été une réelle fête. On est donc heureux de retrouver leur son qui nous ramène à leurs joyeuses prestations. On retrouve ici tous les ingrédients que l’on aime chez Less Than Jake : titres punk rock agrémentés de trombone et saxophone et de quelques rythmes en contre temps nous amenant dans le ska. “Broken Words” ouvre parfaitement le bal, avec un rythme particulièrement ska et dansant, sans en oublier quelques riffs et la sublimation par le son cuivré, ayant par moments le rôle principal. Certains titres comme “Not My Problem” sonnent très pop punk. “Sunne Side Up”, qui a d’ailleurs son clip, fait la part belle au skate punk. Son refrain rythmé est particulièrement entrainant et on vous met au défi d’y rester insensible! Malgré sa sortie en automne, c’est un véritable hymne au soleil, et il nous ramène vraiment en été, à nos festivals. Il fait entrer un véritable rayon de bonheur et de chaleur dans le corps. La fête continue avec les deux inédits de cet EP : “Dead Days (Over and Over)”, très cuivré et rythmé, auquel on ajoute des riffs très rock et un clavier qui vient parfaire ce titre. Toute bonne chose a une fin et on termine “avec “Shake Loose The Truth”, avec son refrain très mélodique mais toujours ska punk! On en redemande toujours plus, mais on se dit qu’on peut se consoler avec la vaste discographie de Less Than Jake pour prolonger le plaisir. 

Less Than Jake nous ramène à des sonorités chaudes et festives, qui font du bien en pleine morosité automnale. Le groupe fait mouche à chaque sortie et nous prouve encore ici tout son talent. Uncharted est un must have cet hiver pour éviter les coups de mou!

American band Less Than Jake are brightening up our daily lives with their ska punk. Their new EP, Uncharted,is out on 15 November via Pure Noise Records. A dose of good humour for our ears that warms our hearts!

Less Than Jake had recently gradually released 5 singles. Each was accompanied by what looked like a piece of treasure map as artwork. With Uncharted they’ve put all the pieces together, offering us a total of 7 tracks and the whole map as artwork. We saw the Americans at Brakrock this summer and it was a real treat. So we’re delighted to be back with their sound, which takes us back to their joyous performances. Here we find all the ingredients we love about Less Than Jake: punk rock tracks spiced up with trombone and saxophone and a few off-beat rhythms taking us into ska. ‘Broken Words’ opens the ball perfectly, with a particularly ska and danceable rhythm, not forgetting a few riffs and the sublimation of the brassy sound, which at times plays the leading role. Some tracks like ‘Not My Problem’ sound very pop punk. ‘Sunne Side Up’, which also has its own video clip, is all about skate punk. Its rhythmic chorus is particularly catchy, and we dare you to fall for it! Despite being released in autumn, it’s a real hymn to the sun, and takes us right back to summer, to our festivals. It brings a real ray of happiness and warmth into the body. The party continues with the two previously unreleased tracks from this EP: ‘Dead Days (Over and Over)’, with its brassy, rhythmic sound, rocking riffs and keyboard to round it off. All good things must come to an end, and we end with ‘Shake Loose The Truth’, with its melodic but still ska punk chorus! We keep coming back for more, but we can console ourselves with Less Than Jake ‘s vast discography to prolong the pleasure.

Less Than Jake takes us back to warm, festive sounds that are so good for the gloom of autumn. The band hits the nail on the head with every release, and here they prove once again just how talented they are. Uncharted is a must-have this winter if you don’t want to feel the blues!
