Après un premier album de grande qualité, les allemands de TFNRSH sont de retour en ce début d’année avec leur deuxième album studio. Intitulé Book Of Circles, il sera disponible le 17 janvier prochain en autoproduction. Amateurs de rock prog et de rock psyché préparez vous à plonger dans un voyage musical qui s’annonce des plus mouvementés.

Le morceau « Zemestån » ouvre l’album avec un riff de guitare lent et une montée en puissance lente de la batterie qui débouche sur un son très space rock. Les trois allemands montrent d’entrée de jeu qu’ils veulent frapper fort avec cette nouvelle sortie. Evidemment on est sur un son très psyché stoner mais qui garde des racines prog avec un gros changement de rythmique en deuxième partie de morceau, avec une basse bien plus grave jouée de mains de maître par Stefan Wettengl qui officie aussi aux synthés en compagnie du guitariste de la formation Sasan Bahreini. Ce premier titre très réussi nous plonge dans l’univers du groupe avec brio. Le morceau suivant garde cette identité stoner avec beaucoup d’effets de pédales de la part de Sasan, qui brille vraiment par ses riffs de haute volée. La batterie de Julius Watzl est mise en avant avec beaucoup d’énegie dans un titre comme « WRZL », alors que le titre suivant laisse plus la place a des frappes plus prog. « Zorn » est d’alleurs le premier titre du groupe avec des paroles, qui se trouvent être un discours en Allemand collant parfaitement à l’ambiance musicale de la première partie du titre. La rythmique de deuxième partie nous réveille pour ne plus nous lâcher avec en bonus des énormes riffs qui viennent prendre aux tripes. On a déjà atteint le dernier titre et on peut déjà dire que le trio de Tübingen frappe fort avec ce deuxième album. « Ammoglÿd » vien terminer l’album tout en émotion avec toujours cette alternance de rythmiques captivantes, et un bruit de pluie qui nous cueille en ouverture de morceaux. Encore une fois le groupe brille par sa capacité à créer des pièces longues évolutives à souhait, mais pour les quelles le temps semble s’arrêter. Lorsque la fin arrive on se dit qu’on se replongerait bien au plus vite dans ces quatre compositions pour un nouveau tour de ce manège musical dont on ne veux pas descendre.
Book Of Circles s’inscrit comme une très très belle proposition de la part de TFNRSH. Cet album regorge d’idées musicales tout en nous enmenant en voyage dans nos esprits, et en laissant les titres faire leur chemin et aller trouver les émotions qui teinteront l’écoute de chacun. Un album de prog rock psyché comme on les adore et qu’on vous encourage à aller découvrir au plus vite dès sa sortie. On espère que les allemands trouveront le chemin de la France très rapidement pour des concerts!

After a first album of great quality, the Germans of TFNRSH are back at the beginning of the year with their second studio album. Entitled Book Of Circles, it will be available on January 17 through self-production. Fans of prog rock and psychedelic rock, get ready to plunge into a musical journey that promises to be one of the most eventful yet.
The track “Zemestån” opens the album with a slow guitar riff and a slow drum build-up that leads into a very space rock sound. The three Germans show from the outset that they want to hit hard with this new release. Obviously, the sound is very psychedelic stoner, but with prog roots, and there’s a big change of rhythm in the second half of the track, with a much deeper bass played masterfully by Stefan Wettengl, who also plays synths with the band’s guitarist Sasan Bahreini. This highly successful first track immerses us in the band’s universe with brio. The next track maintains the stoner identity, with lots of pedal effects from Sasan, who really shines with his high-flying riffs. Julius Watzl‘s drums are brought to the fore with great energy on a track like “WRZL”, while the following track gives way to more prog-style drumming. “Zorn” is the band’s first track with lyrics, which happen to be a speech in German, perfectly matching the musical ambience of the first part of the track. The rhythm of the second half wakes us up and never lets go, with the added bonus of huge riffs that grab you by the gut. We’ve already reached the last track, and it’s safe to say that the Tübingen trio hit hard with this second album. “Ammoglÿd” brings the album to an emotional close, with captivating alternating rhythms and the sound of rain at the opening of each track. Once again, the band shines in its ability to create long, evolving pieces, where time seems to stand still. By the time we get to the end, we’re thinking we’d like to dive right back into these four compositions for another ride on this musical merry-go-round we don’t want to get off.
Book Of Circles is a very, very fine offering from TFNRSH. This album is brimming with musical ideas, taking us on a journey through our minds, letting the tracks take their course and find the emotions that will color everyone’s listening experience. An album of psychedelic prog-rock as we love them, and one that we encourage you to discover as soon as it’s released. We hope the Germans find their way to France very soon for some concerts!
