Après quatre albums les ayant définitivement mis sur la carte de la Oï française et un album en français revisitant leurs titres les plus connus, les parisiens de Lion’s Law reviennent à l’Anglais avec leur nouvel album. Intitulé Evermore, il sera disponible dès le 7 février via Pirates Press Records, Randale Records, UVPR Vinyles et bien d’autres. C’est parti pour quinze nouveaux titres qui sentent bon le pogo et les soirées entre amis!

Dès le premier titre le groupe mené par la voix reconnaissable et puissante de Wattie nous offre une chanson en hommage à leur ville, Paris! D’entrée on retrouve ce son qu’on aime tant, incitant au pogo dans une joie qui laisse les combats qui nous sont chères s’extérioriser de la plus saine des manières. On continue avec « Brother » et son message d’amour à ces amis auxquels on tiens autant qu’à un membre de notre famille. Ceux qui peuvent nous aider à surmonter le solitude d’une vie parfaitement dépeinte dans « Lonely Road. Les guitares nous mettent du baume au cœur même sur des titres plus revendicatifs comme « Sewar Rats » ou « Exctinction ». Là c’est le côté combatif du groupe qui s’exprime avec une vision très réaliste de l’état du monde et du combat que les gens les plus faibles sont obligés de mener pour survivre face à des riches toujours plus riches et des gouvernants mettant à mal les acquis sociétaux et faisant tout pour sauver leur monde à eux! A la batterie on retrouve Tomoï (Burning Heads, Komintern Sect…) qui nous livre tout au long de l’album des rythmiques à nous faire remuer dans notre salon, comme sur « The World is On Fire » et sa thématique évidente sur l’état de notre planète. Le groupe toujours au diapason de son combat antifasciste (dont on a bien besoin en ce moment), et toujours une des têtes du mouvement SHARP (Skinheads Against Racial Prejudice) nous livre dans cet album des titres toujours plus au fait de l’évolution de nos sociétés. « Crucified » ou « Before Your Eyes » représentent bien ça et viennent s’inscire dans ce que cet album a de meilleurs. Les amateurs de refrains à scander se retrouveront parfaitement dans « The City That Never Dies », véritable futur hymne des concerts du groupe! Ce disque se clôt avec l’excellent « I Ran » et ses gangs vocals qui laissent la part belle à tous les musiciens du groupe. Une fin en apothéose pour un album qui tout en nous rappelant tout les combats qui nous restent à mener est venu nous coller un sourire aux oreilles tout du long!
Lion’s Law viennent avec Evermore confirmer, s’il le fallait encore, leur place de choix au panthéon de la Oï made in France. On ne peut que vous conseiller l’écoute de cet album qui nous a totalement conquis et qu’on hésitera pas à se repasser en boucle. Un album de haute volée qui promets de belle heures dans la fosse!

After four albums that put them firmly on the French Oï map, and an album in French revisiting their best-known songs, the Parisians of Lion’s Law are back in English with their new album. Entitled Evermore, it will be available from February 7 via Pirates Press Records, Randale Records, UVPR Vinyles and many others. Fifteen new tracks that smell of pogo and parties with friends!

From the very first track, the band, led by Wattie‘s recognizable and powerful voice, offer us a song in homage to their city, Paris! Right from the start, we find the sound we love so much, inciting us to pogo in a joy that lets the struggles we hold so dear express themselves in the healthiest of ways. We continue with “Brother” and its message of love to those friends we hold as dear as a member of our family. Those who can help us overcome the loneliness of a life perfectly depicted in “Lonely Road. The guitars put a smile on our faces, even on more militant tracks like “Sewar Rats” or “Exctinction”. It’s here that the band’s combative side comes to the fore, with a very realistic vision of the state of the world and the struggle that the weakest people are obliged to wage to survive in the face of ever-richer rich people and rulers who undermine societal gains and do everything in their power to save their own world! On drums we find Tomoï (Burning Heads, Komintern Sect…) who delivers rhythms throughout the album that will have us shaking in our living rooms, as on “The World is On Fire” and its obvious theme on the state of our planet The band, always in tune with its anti-fascist fight (which is much needed at the moment), and still one of the leaders of the SHARP (Skinheads Against Racial Prejudice) movement, delivers tracks on this album that are ever more in tune with the evolution of our societies. “Crucified” and ‘Before Your Eyes’ are two of the best tracks on this album. Fans of sing-along choruses will find themselves perfectly at home with “The City That Never Dies”, the band’s future concert anthem! The album closes with the excellent “I Ran” and its gang vocals, featuring all the band’s musicians. It’s a fitting end to an album that reminds us of the battles we still have to fight, and puts a smile on our faces the whole way through!
With Evermore, Lion’s Law confirm their place in the pantheon of french Oï . We can’t recommend listening to this album enough: it’s totally won us over, and we won’t hesitate to play it over and over again. A high-flying album that promises many hours in the pit!
