Direction la Norvège pour découvrir le nouvel album de Håndgemeng, intitulé Satanic Panic Attack. Disponible le 11 avril prochain via Ripple Music, ce nouveau disque dont la pochette nous a clairement intrigué vient nous plonger dans les aventures du motorcycle death cult. Un beau programme musical donc entre rock, doom et heavy métal.

Dès le premier morceau le groupe Håndgemeng nous lance un mélange entre pur rock et métal d’une efficacité redoutable. Les riffs sont ultra efficaces et le refrain reste en tête dès la première écoute. Le chant alterne entre quelques saturations et un chant clair des plus prenants. En quelques secondes le combo norvégien. « Medieval Knievel » vous fera remuer dans votre salon avec son énergie communicative pendant que le morceau titre vous renverra au meilleur de Motörhead avant de passer vers un son plus doomy avant que le rock brut ne reprenne ses droits. N’oubliez pas le fuzz avec l’intro de « A Path Less Traveled » et ses rythmiques entêtantes. Le groupe ne laisse rien au hasard et enchaîne les compositions plus réussies les unes que les autres. « Earthwoman » revient vers le doom avec son rythme bien lent comme on les aime avant une accélération du tempo assez étonnante et la présence de chœurs puis un retour au doom en fin de titre. Une vraie évolution stylistique qui montre l’étendue du talent de la formation norvégienne. Le titre suivant est tout simplement taillé pour la scène avec, là encore, beaucoup de varitaions. « Down Below » étonne avec son chant clair très présent et son son très bluesy. Et hop! Encore une corde à l’arc du groupe! Pour terminer ce disque tout simplement captivant, le groupe nous propose « Supermoon », véritable best of de ce que les musiciens nous ont distillé tout au long du disque. On commence avec du fuzz et lentement au début pour terminer en avalanche de rock en fin de titre avec en bonus un superbe solo! Que dire à part que le voyage fut mouvementé et diablement enthousiasmant.
Avec Satanic Panic Attack, Håndgemeng livrent un disque rempli de tubes en puissance qui respire l’amour pour le rock et les riffs infectieux. Impossible de ne pas être soufflé par la qualité de chaque composition et cette variété de genre folle qui parcoure le disque, sans jamais nous perdre. Un immanquable du printemps à se mettre dans les oreilles dès sa sortie! On espère voir le groupe revenir en France très bientôt pour une fête satanico-rock comme on les adore!

Head for Norway to discover Håndgemeng’s new album, Satanic Panic Attack. Available on 11 April via Ripple Music, this new album, whose sleeve clearly intrigued us, plunges us into the adventures of motorbike death cult. A fine musical programme of rock, doom and heavy metal.
From the very first track, Håndgemeng deliver a blend of pure rock and metal that’s frighteningly effective. The riffs are ultra-effective and the chorus sticks in your head from the very first listen. The vocals alternate between a few saturations and the most gripping clear vocals. In just a few seconds, the Norwegian combo. ‘Medieval Knievel’ will have you shaking in your living room with its infectious energy, while the title track takes you back to the best of Motörhead before moving on to a more doomy sound before the raw rock takes over again. Don’t forget the fuzz with the intro to “A Path Less Traveled” and its heady rhythms. The band leave nothing to chance, churning out one successful composition after another. ‘Earthwoman’ is a return to doom, with the slow rhythm we’ve come to love, followed by an astonishing acceleration in tempo and the presence of choirs, then a return to doom at the end of the track. A real stylistic evolution that shows the extent of the Norwegian band’s talent. The next track is simply cut out for the stage, with plenty of variety here too. ‘Down Below’ surprises with its clear vocals and bluesy sound. And whoosh! Another string to the band’s bow! To round off this simply captivating record, the band offer us ‘Supermoon’, a veritable best of what the musicians have distilled for us throughout the album. It begins with a slow fuzz beat and ends with an avalanche of rock at the end of the track, with a superb solo as a bonus! What can we say except that it’s been an eventful and exhilarating journey.
With Satanic Panic Attack, Håndgemeng deliver a record packed with powerhouse hits that exude a love of rock and infectious riffs. It’s impossible not to be blown away by the quality of each composition and the crazy genre variety that runs through the record, without ever losing you. It’s a springtime must-have to get into your ears as soon as it’s released! We hope to see the band back in France very soon for a satanic-rock party just the way we like them!
