Originaire de la banlieue parisienne, le groupe reste fidèle à ses principes : une indépendance farouche, un son reconnaissable entre mille et une esthétique qui mêle brutalité musicale et influences japonaises assumées. Sorti via leur propre label Kuromaku Corp, ce quatrième album marque une nouvelle étape pour le groupe.

Dès les premières secondes de « Turbo Intro », la machine est lancée. Des sonorités sci-fi et une voix en japonais : on plonge instantanément dans l’univers de ROTNS, entre Tokyo futuriste et banlieue parisienne. Ce n’est pas juste une intro, c’est une porte d’entrée vers un monde parallèle. « Payback » enchaîne avec les ingrédients qui font le succès du groupe : des rythmes accrocheurs, des refrains taillés pour être chantés en chœur et un breakdown qui flirte avec le hip hop notamment grâce à des scratchs de vinyles qui rappellent les racines urbaines du groupe. Sur « Neo Paris », les parisiens osent un refrain plus chanté, une légère inflexion qui surprend sans trahir leur ADN. Les couplets restent ancrés dans le rap-metal, et le breakdown est d’une puissance brute. C’est une vision de Paris réinventée, entre béton et néons.
« Falcon » marque un tournant. Le chant nous évoque Turnstile, pour notre plus grande surprise, mais également plaisir. Les notes aériennes d’Eva-B apportent une lumière inattendue et le message d’espoir qui traverse le morceau en fait un véritable pilier de l’album. Ce titre a guidé toute la direction artistique de cette nouvelle ère, et ça se ressent. Car chez ROTNS, chaque album est un univers complet musicalement et visuellement, pensé et façonné par Vithia, chanteur et directeur artistique du projet. Clips, visuels, narration : tout sort de son esprit. « Back 2 Basics » ramène le français dans les paroles, avec un clin d’œil au précédent album : “épique est l’équipe”. Et quelle équipe ! Le featuring avec Landmvrks est une rencontre au sommet entre deux géants de la scène core française. Paris et Marseille réunis, deux pôles qui incarnent toute la force de notre scène. Les deux breakdowns chantés en français sont des moments de guerre pure. Vécus en live la semaine dernière au Splendid, c’est une déflagration dans la fosse.
« Under » ralentit le tempo pour explorer des sonorités hip hop très 2000’s. Le thème est lourd : la dépression. Le groupe ne se cache pas derrière ses riffs, il parle vrai et ça frappe. « Pressure » prouve qu’il n’est pas nécessaire d’aller vite pour être intense. Le morceau est plus lent et surtout plus pesant qui permet d’installer cette tension donne une force nouvelle à leur écriture. Sur « Nemesis », deuxième featuring de l’album, Aaron Matts (Ten56., ex-Betraying The Martyrs) vient poser sa voix. Une autre figure marquante de la scène française qui apporte avec lui une touche industrielle et tranchante. Ce morceau est une rencontre entre deux univers assez singulier et ça fonctionne à merveille. « A.I.R. Max » et « Solitary Homeboy » poursuivent l’exploration avec des touches japonisantes dans les refrains, des beats hip hop bien présents et toujours cette capacité à créer des ambiances fortes.
« No Turning Back » renoue avec le hip hop tandis que « Desolation Hawk » envoie une déferlante de riffs avec un chant qui nous évoque Paleface Swiss. C’est brutal et dense. Enfin, « 75 Outro » conclut l’album avec un couplet en français, porteur d’un message d’avenir. C’est une sortie pleine de gratitude qui rappelle que derrière la violence du son, il y a une volonté de construire quelque chose de fort, de créer du beau et de de transmettre des choses dans un nouveau monde futuriste.
Avec Chapter 04: Red Falcon Super Battle! Neo Paris War!!, Rise Of The Northstar signe un retour éclatant. Le groupe prouve une fois de plus qu’il est capable de créer bien plus qu’un album : un univers complet, cohérent et puissant. Leur vision artistique, leur maîtrise sonore et leur énergie font de ce quatrième chapitre une réussite totale.

Hailing from the suburbs of Paris, the band remains true to its principles: fierce independence, a sound that is instantly recognisable, and an aesthetic that blends musical brutality with unapologetic Japanese influences. From the very first seconds of « Turbo Intro », the machine is set in motion. Sci-fi sounds and Japanese vocals instantly plunge us into the world of ROTNS, somewhere between futuristic Tokyo and the suburbs of Paris. This isn’t just an intro, it’s a gateway to a parallel world. « Payback » follows with the ingredients that make the band so successful: catchy rhythms, choruses tailor-made for sing-alongs and a breakdown that flirts with hip hop, notably thanks to vinyl scratches that recall the band’s urban roots. On « Neo Paris », the Parisians dare to sing a more melodic chorus, a slight inflection that surprises without betraying their DNA. The verses remain rooted in rap-metal, and the breakdown is raw power. It’s a vision of Paris reinvented, between concrete and neon lights.
« Falcon » marks a turning point. The vocals remind us of Turnstile, much to our surprise, but also to our delight. Eva-B‘s airy notes bring an unexpected light, and the message of hope that runs through the track makes it a real pillar of the album. This track has guided the entire artistic direction of this new era, and it shows. Because at ROTNS, each album is a complete universe, both musically and visually, conceived and shaped by Vithia, the project’s singer and artistic director. Music videos, visuals, narration: everything comes from his mind. « Back 2 Basics » brings French back into the lyrics, with a nod to the previous album: « épique est l’équipe » (the team is epic). And what a team! The collaboration with Landmvrks is a summit meeting between two giants of the French core scene. Paris and Marseille united, two poles that embody the full force of our scene. The two breakdowns sung in French are moments of pure war. Experienced live last week at the Splendid, it’s an explosion in the pit.
« Under » slows down the tempo to explore very 2000s hip hop sounds. The theme is heavy: depression. The band doesn’t hide behind its riffs, it speaks the truth and it hits hard. ‘Pressure’ proves that you don’t have to go fast to be intense. The track is slower and, above all, heavier, which allows the tension to build and gives new strength to their writing. On ‘Nemesis’, the second feature on the album, Aaron Matts (Ten56., ex-Betraying The Martyrs) lends his voice. Another prominent figure on the French scene, he brings with him a sharp, industrial touch. This track is a meeting of two rather unique worlds, and it works wonderfully. ‘A.I.R. Max’ and ‘Solitary Homeboy’ continue the exploration with Japanese touches in the choruses, strong hip hop beats and the same ability to create powerful atmospheres.
« No Turning Back » returns to hip hop, while ‘Desolation Hawk’ unleashes a barrage of riffs with vocals reminiscent of Paleface Swiss. It’s brutal and dense. Finally, ‘75 Outro’ concludes the album with a verse in French, carrying a message of the future. It’s a release full of gratitude that reminds us that behind the violence of the sound, there is a desire to build something strong, to create beauty and to convey things in a new futuristic world.
With Chapter 04: Red Falcon Super Battle! Neo Paris War!!, Rise Of The Northstar makes a dazzling comeback. The band proves once again that it is capable of creating much more than an album: a complete, coherent and powerful universe. Their artistic vision, mastery of sound and energy make this fourth chapter a total success.
