L’album s’ouvre sur le morceau titre, « The Anatomy Of Surviving ». Cette introduction cinématographique monte lentement en intensité, donnant le ton de ce qui va suivre. Juste au moment où la tension atteint son paroxysme, le morceau s’arrête brusquement et nous plonge directement dans « Gods of Glass & Wire ». La chanson démarre sur les chapeaux de roue avant de se calmer soudainement. Des riffs lourds et puissants prennent le relais tandis que les cris font avancer le morceau. La production ajoute également quelques éléments électroniques au mixage, qui apportent une autre dimension au morceau. Les voix claires deviennent rapidement entraînantes avec la phrase qui reste gravée dans un coin de notre esprit : « I was through hell just to feel alive » (J’ai traversé l’enfer juste pour me sentir vivant). Un court moment de répit apparaît avant que le breakdown ne frappe. « A Spotless Mind » suit avec une structure metalcore familière. La chanson avance rapidement, portée par des riffs agressifs et un refrain clair. Le groupe glisse également un solo de guitare, nous permettant d’apprécier le jeu de guitare à travers quelques moments techniques dispersés tout au long de l’album, mais toujours agréables. Avec « Silent Therapy », des cris sur des textures électroniques ouvrent la chanson avant que les guitares ne nous plongent dans le morceau avec une distorsion sauvage. Un pont construit lentement la tension jusqu’à l’arrivée du breakdown. Le résultat est étonnamment efficace, car le morceau se transforme presque en un moment de rave où les guitares électriques se mélangent à une atmosphère électro. « Trading Hearts » nous laisse à peine le temps de reprendre notre souffle avant de nous replonger dans l’intensité. Le morceau est lourd dès le début, se développant progressivement à travers des riffs réguliers et graves. Les contrastes jouent ici un rôle important, maintenant la tension tout au long du morceau. Sur « Spitting Blood Again », des chuchotements introduisent le morceau avant qu’un cri ne retentisse soudainement. L’intensité monte immédiatement alors que la chanson plonge dans un territoire lourd et technique. Le travail à la guitare apporte un côté plus mélodique qui s’étend pendant le refrain avec des couches électroniques et des voix claires. Lorsque le breakdown arrive, le cri qui l’introduit est particulièrement satisfaisant, tout comme l’impact du breakdown lui-même. Après cela, « Red Noise » augmente à nouveau le tempo. Les guitares portent le morceau avec un fort sentiment d’urgence. Le refrain chanté de manière claire est accrocheur et prend plus de place que sur les morceaux précédents. À un moment donné, la basse prend brièvement le dessus avant que le groupe ne se relance dans une frénésie. Des changements de tempo soudains et des grognements profonds apparaissent en cours de route avant de revenir au refrain. Vicious Rain plonge plus profondément, flirtant avec des influences deathcore, et cela leur va bien ! Le rythme ne ralentit pas avec « IKIGAI ». La batterie et les riffs semblent courir contre le temps, poussant le morceau à toute vitesse. Lorsque la rupture survient enfin, elle frappe fort et semble prête à tout détruire dans la fosse. Avec The Anatomy Of Surviving, Vicious Rain suit clairement la recette du metalcore moderne tout en ajoutant des touches de deathcore pour plus d’intensité. Sur les neuf morceaux, les parties chantées en voix claire peuvent parfois sembler un peu répétitives, mais les instruments et les cris maintiennent l’intérêt de l’album. Les guitares, la basse et la batterie apportent constamment de l’énergie et de la variation, aidant l’album à conserver son impact du début à la fin.

The album opens with the title track, « The Anatomy Of Surviving ». This cinematic introduction slowly builds intensity, setting the tone for what is about to come. Just when the tension reaches its peak, the track abruptly ends and throws us straight into « Gods of Glass & Wire ». The song launches in a frenzy before suddenly calming down. Heavy and powerful riffs take over while the screams drive the track forward. The production also adds some electronic elements through the mix that add another layer to the track. The clean vocals quickly become catchy with the line that sticks into a corner of our mind “I was through hell just to feel alive.” A short breathing moment appears before the breakdown hits. « A Spotless Mind » follows with a familiar metalcore structure. The song moves fast, carried by aggressive riffs and a clean chorus. The band also slips in a guitar solo, allowing us to appreciate the guitar play through some technical moments that are dispersed throughout the record but always enjoyable. With « Silent Therapy », screams on electronic textures open the song before the guitars throw us into the track with wild distortion. A bridge slowly builds the tension until the breakdown arrives. The result is surprisingly effective, as the track almost turns into a rave-like moment where electric guitars mix with an electro atmosphere. « Trading Hearts » barely gives time to breathe before pulling us back into the intensity. The track feels heavy from the start, gradually developing through steady and low riffs. Contrasts play a big role here, keeping the tension alive as the song moves forward. On « Spitting Blood Again », whispers introduce the track before a scream suddenly erupts. The intensity immediately rises as the song dives into heavy and technical territory. The guitar work brings a more melodic side that expands during the chorus with electronic layers and clean vocals. When the breakdown arrives, the scream that introduces it is particularly satisfying, just like the impact of the breakdown itself. After that « Red Noise » raises the tempo again. The guitars carry the song forward with a strong sense of urgency. The clean vocal chorus is catchy and takes more space than on the previous tracks. At one point, the bass briefly takes the lead before the band jumps back into a frenzy. Sudden tempo changes and deep growls appear along the way before returning to the chorus. Vicious Rain plunges deeper, flirting with deathcore influences, and it suits them well! The pace does not intend to slow down with « IKIGAI ». Drums and riffs seem to race against time, pushing the track forward at full speed. When the breakdown finally arrives, it hits hard and feels ready to crush everything in the pit. Finally, « Intertwined » closes the record on a more melodic note. The track feels melancholic and emotional, offering a softer ending after the intensity of the previous songs.
With The Anatomy Of Surviving, Vicious Rain clearly follows the modern metalcore recipe while adding touches of deathcore for extra intensity. Across the nine tracks, the clean vocal parts can sometimes feel a bit repetitive, but the instrumental and screams work keeps the record engaging. The guitars, bass and drums constantly bring energy as well as variation, helping the album maintain its impact from beginning to end.
