C’est dans le cadre majestueux du Théâtre Sébastopol que nous nous rendons ce soir pour une soirée dédiée à un groupe mythique. En effet le spectacle Rumours Of Fleetwood Mac s’arrête en terres lilloises pour nous proposer plus de deux heures de morceaux mythiques du groupe anglo américain. Autant vous dire que les amateurs ne pouvaient manquer ça et nous voilà partis pour une plongée dans une discographie inoubliable s’étalent de 1968 à 2003. Une belle soirée proposée par A Gauche De La Lune .

La lumière s’éteint dans le Théâtre Sébastopol, bien rempli ce soir, et sur l’écran nous voyons apparaître nulle autre que Mick Fleetwood qui nous présente le spectacle que nous allons voir ce soir en nous disant qu’il a reconnu en eux l’âme de sa formation et des morceaux. Un bien beau message qui annonce un spectacle inoubliable! Nous voyons ensuite les sept musiciens et musiciennes débarquer sur scène et commencer fort avec « Gypsy ». D’entrée Vivienne Chi nous impressionne aussi bien par son chant envoutant que par sa présence scénique magnétique. On ressent déjà toute la passion mise dans l’interprétation de ces titres qui n’ont pas pris une ride. Sur scène l’alchimie dans le groupe ce soir est évidente et les regards sur « You Make Loving Fun » ou « Sara » nous donnent à voir à quel point ce projet est soudé et prêt à nous faire passer une soirée inoubliable. S’en suit l’enchaînement des classiques que sont « Songbird », « The Chain » et « Dreams », accueillis chacun par de larges applaudissements d’un public conquis. La section rythmique tenue par Etienne Girard à la basse et Allan Cosgrove à la batterie nous enchante tout du long avec un jeu taillé pour nous faire danser quand il faut ou nous plonger dans l’émotion brute. Sur scène beaucoup se prêtent au chant tout au long de la soirée, comme par exemple Sara Leanne, impressionnante derrière ses claviers et nous collant des frissons avec sa voix douce. Sur « I’m So Afraid » le duo vocal formé par Vivienne Chi et James Harrison nous en met plein la vue et vient nous montrer que la force émotionnelle de ce titre est toujours bien présente. On arrive déjà bientôt à la fin du premier set de cette soirée et « Gold Dust Woman » laisse à la guitare acoustique une place de choix avant que « Rhiannon » ne vienne clôturer en beauté cette première heure de concert passée à la vitesse de l’éclair tant la performance du groupe est électrisante.
Pour le retour sur scène après une petite pause d’une vingtaine de minutes nous partons directement dans les premiers albums du projet de Peter Green. Pour ces titres c’est Alex Dee, également claviériste et guitariste ce soir, qui prend le lead sur « The Green Manalishi (With the Two Prong Crown) » ou encore « Albatross ». Et on entendra même son chant sur « Rattlesnake Shake » pour notre plus grand plaisir, les deux morceaux précédents étant des pièces instrumentales. Là encore Rumours Of Fleetwood Mac impressionnent par leur capacité à rendre les morceaux vivants et à ne jamais singer leurs illustres interprètes. Mick Gay nous montre lui aussi ses talents de guitariste sur le sublime « Oh Well » avant que « Isn’t It Midnight » ne voit revenir sur scène Sara Leanne et Vivienne Chi pour notre plus grand plaisir. « Silver Springs » et « Hold Me » nous enchantent une fois de plus avec des musiciens au sommet de leur art, puis vient le temps d’une pause acoustique. C’est « Big Love » et « Landslide » qui ont été choisies pour cet interlude tout en douceur et autant vous dire que l’émotion ressentie au son des magnifiques voix et des sons de guitare acoustiques est indescriptible. Après un « Little Lies » d’anthologie un petit détour par la carrière solo de la grande Stevie Nicks nous est proposé. « Edge Of Seventeen » laisse à Vivienne l’occasion de nous montrer une fois de plus toute la puissance de son chant ainsi que ses capacités à faire se lever le public pour le faire danser. Une bien belle surprise qui renforce notre émerveillement déjà fort ce soir. C’est sur « Everywhere » et « Go Your Own Way » que le concert se termine avec une fois de plus un groupe envoutant à souhait. Les musiciens et musiciennes sont d’ailleurs tous mis en avant et applaudis à tout rompre par un public enthousiaste à souhait, qui d’ailleurs ne compte pas terminer la soirée si vite. C’est donc deux autres titres qui nous seront joués à notre grand bonheur. Et ce sont les très dansants, « Don’t Stop » et « Tusk » qui seront choisis pour nous laisser avec une fois de plus des riffs inoubliables, des rythmiques à tomber, des claviers envoutants et un chant venant vous coller des ultimes frissons. C’est conquis que nous quittons la salle après cette belle soirée, avec en tête l’envie de se repasser ces titres mythiques et de retrouver Rumours Of Fleetwood Mac au plus vite.
C’est un véritable spectacle que nous ont proposé Rumours Of Fleetwood Mac ce soir au Théâtre Sébastopol! Bien plus qu’un concert nous avons eu le droit à un bon dans le temps vertigineux au fil des albums du groupe de légende. Chaque membre de la formation présente ce soir a apporté sa touche à des morceaux faisant parti de nos vies depuis de nombreuses années et montré à quels point ces morceaux sont importants dans les leurs aussi. Un bien bel hommage, vivant à souhait, qu’on vous encourage vivement à aller découvrir au plus près de chez vous!

Tonight we’re heading to the majestic setting of the Théâtre Sébastopol for an evening dedicated to a legendary band. Indeed, the Rumours Of Fleetwood Mac show is stopping off in Lille to treat us to over two hours of iconic tracks from the Anglo-American band. Needless to say, fans couldn’t afford to miss this, and here we are, ready to dive into an unforgettable discography spanning from 1968 to 2003. The lights dim in the Théâtre Sébastopol, which is packed tonight, and on the screen we see none other than Mick Fleetwood appear, introducing the show we’re about to see and telling us that he has recognised in them the spirit of his band and their songs. A lovely message that promises an unforgettable show! We then see the seven musicians take to the stage and kick things off with a bang with “Gypsy”. Right from the start, Vivienne Chi impresses us with both her spellbinding vocals and her magnetic stage presence. You can already feel all the passion poured into the performance of these tracks, which haven’t aged a bit. On stage, the chemistry within the band tonight is evident, and the looks exchanged during “You Make Loving Fun” or “Sara” show just how tight-knit this project is and how ready they are to give us an unforgettable evening. This is followed by a string of classics: “Songbird”, “The Chain” and “Dreams”, each greeted by thunderous applause from a captivated audience. The rhythm section, led by Etienne Girard on bass and Allan Cosgrove on drums, delights us throughout with a performance tailored to make us dance when needed or immerse us in raw emotion. On stage, many take to the mic throughout the evening, such as Sara Leanne, who is impressive behind her keyboards and sends shivers down our spines with her soft voice. On “I’m So Afraid”, the vocal duo of Vivienne Chi and James Harrison really impress us and prove that the emotional power of this track is still very much alive. We’re already nearing the end of the first set of the evening, and “Gold Dust Woman” gives the acoustic guitar centre stage before “Rhiannon” brings this first hour of the concert to a stunning close – an hour that has flown by in a flash, such is the electrifying nature of the band’s performance.
For the return to the stage after a short break of about twenty minutes, we dive straight into the early albums of Peter Green’s project. For these tracks, it’s Alex Dee – also on keyboards and guitar tonight – who takes the lead on “The Green Manalishi (With the Two-Pronged Crown)” and “Albatross”. And to our great delight, we even get to hear him sing on “Rattlesnake Shake”, the two previous tracks having been instrumental pieces. Once again, Rumours Of Fleetwood Mac impress with their ability to bring the songs to life without ever merely imitating their illustrious originals. Mick Gay also shows off his guitar skills on the sublime “Oh Well” before “Isn’t It Midnight” sees Sara Leanne and Vivienne Chi return to the stage, much to our delight. “Silver Springs” and “Hold Me” enchant us once more with musicians at the peak of their art, then it’s time for an acoustic interlude. ‘Big Love’ and “Landslide” were chosen for this gentle interlude, and needless to say, the emotion felt at the sound of those magnificent voices and acoustic guitar tones is indescribable. After a legendary rendition of ‘Little Lies’, we’re treated to a brief detour into the solo career of the great Stevie Nicks. ‘Edge Of Seventeen’ gives Vivienne the chance to show us once again the full power of her voice, as well as her ability to get the audience on their feet and dancing. A lovely surprise that adds to the sense of wonder we’ve already been feeling this evening. The concert draws to a close with “Everywhere” and ‘Go Your Own Way’, with the band once again proving utterly captivating. The musicians are all given centre stage and receive thunderous applause from an incredibly enthusiastic crowd, who clearly have no intention of ending the evening so soon. So, to our great delight, we are treated to two more tracks. And it is the highly danceable “Don’t Stop” and “Tusk” that are chosen to leave us, once again, with unforgettable riffs, rhythms to die for, spellbinding keyboards and vocals that send shivers down your spine. We left the venue thoroughly won over after this wonderful evening, with the desire to listen to these legendary tracks again and to see Rumours Of Fleetwood Mac as soon as possible.
Rumours Of Fleetwood Mac put on a real show for us tonight at the Théâtre Sébastopol! Far more than just a concert, we were treated to a dizzying journey through time, spanning the albums of this legendary band. Every member of the line-up performing tonight brought their own touch to songs that have been part of our lives for many years, and showed just how important these songs are in their own lives too. A truly beautiful tribute, full of life, which we strongly encourage you to go and experience for yourselves wherever you are!
