Nous avions découvert No Terror In the Bang avec leur album Heal sorti en 2024 et nous avions été conquis par leur métal progressif cinématique en diable. Les revoilà deux ans plus tard avec un nouvel EP. Intitulé Existence, il sera disponible dès le 3 avril prochain via Klonosphère. Cinq nouveaux titres pour voir ce que ces deux années ont apporté comme évolution à la musique du groupe.

L’EP s’ouvre sur « Moon » et nous voilà déjà plongés dans ce que le groupe a de meilleur, c’est à dire des riffs à vous faire remuer la tête dès les premières secondes servis par Etienne Cochin et Clément Bernard, ainsi que la voix versatile à souhait de Sofia Bortoluzzi qui vient vous montrer toute sa puissance dès ce premier titre. On a déjà en quelques minutes une belle preuve que le groupe n’a fait que gagner en puissance en deux ans et que cet EP est une annonce d’un son toujours plus affirmé. « Heroine » laisse à Brice Bouchard à la basse et Alexis Damien à la batterie l’occasion de nous montrer tout le côté progressif du groupe avec des évolutions rythmiques impressionnantes. Les changements de rythme viennent s’accompagner d’une alternance pleinement maîtrisée entre chant clair et chant hurlé pour Sofia, définitivement au sommet de son art sur ce disque. Les claviers, également joués par Alexis sont présents sur « Human Race Kills », morceau on ne peut plus encré dans l’actualité, qui démarre en douceur avant une explosion mélodique à souhait un peu plus tard dans le titre. Enfin « Chasm » finit cet EP de la plus belle des manières avec encore une fois une composition qui reste dans notre tête dès la première écoute et qui vient laisse à chaque membre de la formation une dernière occasion de briller. La ligne vocale de Sofia est encore une fois digne des plus grandes vocalistes et vient nous coller des frissons du début à la fin.
Avec Existence, No Terror In The Bang confirment qu’ils se sont définitivement fait une place sur la scène métal prog française. On a là cinq titres composés pour marquer les esprits et interprétés avec brio par des musicien.ne.s qui savent où il vont et qui ne cessent d’impressionner par leur capacité à créer des morceaux inoubliables. On vous encourage vivement à vous plonger dans cette nouvelle sortie et à foncer les voir en concert dès que possible!

We first discovered No Terror In the Bang with their 2024 album *Heal* and were completely won over by their incredibly cinematic progressive metal. They’re back two years later with a new EP. Entitled *Existence*, it will be available from April 3rd via Klonosphère. Five new tracks to see how the band’s sound has evolved over the past two years.
The EP opens with ‘Moon’ and we’re immediately immersed in the band’s finest work: head-banging riffs from the very first seconds, courtesy of Etienne Cochin and Clément Bernard, alongside Sofia Bortoluzzi’s wonderfully versatile vocals, which showcase their full power right from this opening track. Within just a few minutes, we have clear proof that the band has only grown in strength over the past two years and that this EP heralds an increasingly assertive sound. ‘Heroine’ gives Brice Bouchard on bass and Alexis Damien on drums the chance to showcase the band’s progressive side with impressive rhythmic shifts. The shifts in rhythm are accompanied by a perfectly mastered alternation between clean vocals and screaming vocals from Sofia, who is definitely at the peak of her artistry on this record. The keyboards, also played by Alexis, feature on “Human Race Kills”, a track that couldn’t be more relevant to current events, which starts gently before exploding into a perfectly melodic outburst a little later in the track. Finally, ‘Chasm’ rounds off this EP in the finest possible way with yet another composition that sticks in your head from the very first listen and gives every member of the band one last chance to shine. Sofia’s vocal delivery is once again worthy of the greatest vocalists and sends shivers down your spine from start to finish.
With Existence, No Terror In The Bang have firmly established themselves on the French prog metal scene. Here we have five tracks crafted to leave a lasting impression, brilliantly performed by musicians who know exactly where they’re going and who never cease to impress with their ability to create unforgettable songs.
