Fragile, groupe formé à Angers en 2020, sortent en ce mois de juin leur premier EP. Intitulé …About Going Home, il est dors et déjà disponible via Nineteen Something. Que nous réserve cette première sortie prometteuse des angevins?

Les gangs vocals nous accueillent dans le premier morceau avant que la voix éraillée de Baptiste Pelletier vienne nous chercher, portée par une musique toujours sur le fil entre énergie et mélancolie. En quelques minutes le groupe nous montre qu’il en a déjà sous le pied, et vu les formation des quelles viennent les musiciens ça n’est pas étonnant. Amateurs de Wild Fox, LANE ou encore Dogs For Friends, retrouvez ici vos musiciens favoris dans un nouveau projet, qui n’aura aucun mal à les accrocher! Les riffs de Josic Jégu et Jean-Baptiste Habsiger très marqués par la musique punk émo des années 90 et 2000 font mouche et nous ramènent à ces années qu’on aime tant. Mais la modernité est bien présente, et les mélodies imparables. On vous encourage à bouger dans votre salon au son de l’excellent « Winter At The Museum », qu’on vous laisse découvrir en bas de l’article.  Manuel Franc et Félix Sourice forment un duo rythmique incomparable qui sait se faire discret quand il le faut tout gardant des passages enlevés qui vous donneront envie de bouger en rythme! « Anhedonia » et « Murmuration » confirment que le groupe a de beaux jours devant lui, avec toujours cette capacité à nous cueillir sur la bonne émotion au bon moment. « Model » est un titre bien trouvé pour terminer cette première sortie, tant ce morceau sonne comme ce vers quoi la formation veut aller musicalement, avec toujours ce soucis du détail qui impressionne!

Avec …About Going Home, Fragile nous donnent clairement envie d’en découvrir plus. Ce premier EP, véritable démonstration du groupe angevin saura plaire à un large public tant les compositions vont chercher des idées dans des styles variés, avec toujours cet encrage fort dans le punk hardcore mélodique. Une vraie réussite, que j’espère avoir la chance de voir en live très vite!

Fragile, a band formed in Angers in 2020, are releasing their first EP in June. Entitled …About Going Home, it’s already available via Nineteen Something. What does this promising first release from the Angevins have in store for us?

The gang vocals greet us on the first track before Baptiste Pelletier‘s hoarse voice comes to pick us up, carried by music that’s always on the edge between energy and melancholy. In just a few minutes, the band show that they’ve already got it under their belt, and given the backgrounds of their musicians, that’s hardly surprising. Fans of Wild Fox, LANE and Dogs For Friends will find their favourite musicians here in a new project that will have no trouble hooking them! Josic Jégu and Jean-Baptiste Habsiger‘s riffs, heavily influenced by the emo punk music of the 90s and 2000s, hit the nail on the head and take us back to those beloved years. But the modernity is still there, and the melodies are unstoppable. We encourage you to move around your living room to the sound of the excellent ‘Winter At The Museum’, which we’ll let you discover at the bottom of the article. Manuel Franc and Félix Sourice form an incomparable rhythmic duo who know how to be discreet when they need to be, while keeping their lively passages that will make you want to move to the beat! « Anhedonia » and « Murmuration » confirm that the band have a bright future ahead of them, with their ability to pick up on the right emotion at the right time. « Model » is a fitting title to end this first release, so much so that it sounds like the direction the band want to take musically, with the same impressive attention to detail!

With …About Going Home, Fragile have clearly left us wanting more. This first EP, a real demonstration of the Angevin band, will appeal to a wide audience, as the compositions explore ideas in a variety of styles, always with a strong melodic hardcore punk edge. A real success story, and one that I hope to see live very soon!
