Crée en 2015, le groupe parisien PÆRISH à fait du chemin depuis! Après des tournées en premières parties de groupes comme Sum41, Moose Blood et autres et deux albums marquants, la formation nous présente son troisième album. Intitulé You’re In Both Dreams (And You’re Sacred), phrase tirée de l’excellent film Mulholland Drive de David Lynch, il sera disponible le 18 août prochain via Side One Dummy Records. Bluffé par leurs précédentes sorties et leurs prestations live, il me tarde de découvrir cette nouvelle sortie des parisiens.

Les guitares de Mathias Court et Frédéric Wah nous accueillent dans cet album, avant que la voix douce du premier vienne nous envouter. Le premier titre de cet album montre déjà tout le talent de la formation parisienne avec un début de titre très doux et une fin typiquement shoegaze totalement maîtrisée. Les morceaux suivants sont de vraies pépites rock avec une envie de brouiller les frontières entre les différents genres. Le duo basse/batterie formé par Martin Dupraz et Loïc Fouquet fait des merveilles, notamment sur l’excellent « Houses of american style ». En quelques titres on sait déjà que ce nouvel album des parisiens marquera durablement nos esprits. Les émotions des paroles passent sans effort grâce à la voix magnifique de Mathias, qui nous sert là une prestation absolument inoubliable. Difficile de ne pas se laisser porter par les notes virevoltantes de « The Luck You Had » et son saxophone ou encore « Brian Wilfuzz » et sa rythmique à la fois incroyablement douce et emplie d’émotions. Chaque morceau de cet album est une pure délectation pour les oreilles et les deux derniers n’en seront que l’ultime confirmation. On vous laisse vous faire submerger une dernière fois par la msuique des parisiens avec « My Every Step », qui vient clôturer cet album avec une dernière pépite qui nous restera, là aussi, en tête.

PÆRISH confirment avec You’re In Both Dreams (And You’re Sacred) qu’ils sont un groupe majeur de la scène rock française. On voit mal comment cet album ne pourrait pas leur permettre de remplir des salles de plus en plus grandes. La musique du groupe est un un vrai voyage entre les genres, tout en gardant une cohérence folle qui donne envie de se replonger dans l’album encore et encore. On espère les retrouver sur scène très vite, et en particulier dans la région lilloise. On vous encourage vivement à vous jeter sur l’album dès sa sortie.

The guitars of Mathias Court and Frédéric Wah welcome us to the album, before the former’s gentle vocals take us under their spell. The first track on this album already shows the talent of the Parisian band, with a very gentle beginning and a typically shoegaze ending that is totally mastered. The following tracks are real rock nuggets, with a desire to blur the boundaries between different genres. The bass/drums duo of Martin Dupraz and Loïc Fouquet work wonders, particularly on the excellent ‘Houses of American Style’. After just a few tracks, we already know that this new album from the Parisians will leave a lasting impression on our minds. The emotions of the lyrics are effortlessly conveyed thanks to Mathias’ magnificent voice, which delivers an absolutely unforgettable performance. It’s hard not to be carried away by the twirling notes of ‘The Luck You Had’ and its saxophone, or ‘Brian Wilfuzz’ and its rhythm that’s both incredibly gentle and full of emotion. Every track on this album is a pure delight for the ears, and the last two are just the final confirmation. We’ll let you soak up the Parisians’ music one last time with ‘My Every Step’, which brings the album to a close with a final nugget that will stay with you for a long time to come.

PÆRISH confirm with You’re In Both Dreams (And You’re Sacred) that they are a major band on the French rock scene. It’s hard to see how this album couldn’t help them sell out bigger and bigger venues. The band’s music is a veritable voyage between genres, while retaining a crazy coherence that makes you want to dive back into the album again and again. We hope to see them live again very soon, especially in the Lille region. We urge you to go and listen to this amazing album as soon as it’s out.
