LISATYD, groupe formé l’an dernier par des musicien.ne.s bien connus de la scène francilienne, nous présentent cet automne leur premier EP. Intitulé Life Is Shit And Then You Die, il sera disponible le 29 septembre prochain. Les années 90 et leur musique sont au cœur de cette première sortie dans laquelle on a hâte de se plonger! Si le titre du premier morceau vous fait penser à The Lego Movie, sortez vous cette idée de la tête car on est loin de cette référence musicale et cinématographique (le film est dingue, on vous le conseille!) Ici le rythme est lent et nous dévoile les belles harmonies vocales de Simon Garrette (guitare) et Angela Dufin (batterie). Ce titre fonctionne comme une belle introduction à l’EP et nous plonge directement dans cette ambiance très 90’s, qui sera confirmée par le son noisy à souhaits de « Toad Man ». On vous laissera découvrir ce morceau en fin d’article avec son clip décalé et très bien réalisé. En deux petits morceaux on retrouve déjà de belles choses et on se dit que le combo à déjà une belle identité. John Babkine et Simon nous balancent des riffs bien stoner sur « Cut », on vous défie de ne pas vous repasser ce titre en boucle! La batterie d’Angela et la basse de Clément Verheaghe se mêlent parfaitement et forment une section rythmique inoubliable, en particulier sur le très énergique « Vrillator ». Les influences sont diverses mais toutes maîtrisées, du punk de « Repeat » au définitivement grunge « German Dinosaur ». On sent que chaque musicien a apporté son historique musical pour créer un ensemble cohérent et véritablement marquant. LISATYD arrivent avec Life Is Shit And Then You Die à montrer toute l’étendue de leur talent. Impossible de rester impassible devant une sortie aussi réussie. On sait pourquoi le groupe a pu enchaîner de belles dates très rapidement après sa création. Les influences musicales des différents membres sont toutes présentes et se fondes les unes dans les autres avec brio. On ne peut que vous encourager à foncer sur cet EP dès sa sortie et vous plonger dans cette ambiance si réussie proposée par le combo.

LISATYD, a band formed last year by well-known musicians from the Paris region, are releasing their first EP this autumn. Entitled Life Is Shit And Then You Die, it will be available on 29 September. The 90s and their music are at the heart of this first release, and we can’t wait to dive in! If you’ve been paying attention to our various columns, the name of the band’s drummer won’t be unfamiliar to you! We’ll leave you to ponder before giving you the answer at the end of the article.

If the title of the first track reminds you of The Lego Movie, get that idea out of your head, because we’re far from that musical and cinematographic reference (the film is crazy, we recommend it!) Here the rhythm is slow and reveals the beautiful vocal harmonies of Simon Garrette (guitar) and Angela Dufin (drums). This track acts as a great introduction to the EP, plunging us straight into that very 90s atmosphere, which is confirmed by the noisy sound of ‘Toad Man’. We’ll let you discover this track at the end of the article, with its quirky, well-directed clip. In just two short tracks, there’s already a lot going on here, and it’s clear that this band already has a strong identity. John Babkine and Simon throw down some stoner riffs on ‘Cut’ – we dare you not to play it over and over again! Angela‘s drums and Clément Verheaghe‘s bass blend perfectly to form an unforgettable rhythm section, particularly on the energetic ‘Vrillator’. The influences are diverse but all mastered, from the punk of ‘Repeat’ to the definitive grunge of ‘German Dinosaur’. You can tell that each musician has contributed his or her own musical background to create a coherent and truly memorable whole. This first release closes with the surprising « Take It Back », which leaves us craving for more.
LISATYD‘s Life Is Shit And Then You Die shows the full extent of their talent. It’s impossible to remain impassive in the face of such a successful release. It’s easy to see why the band were able to rack up a string of great shows so quickly after their formation. The musical influences of the various members are all present and blend into each other brilliantly. All we can do is encourage you to get your hands on this EP as soon as it’s released, and immerse yourself in the band’s successful musical atmosphere.
