Pour cette première date de la tournée double release pour Worst Doubt et Sorcerer, nous retrouvons un plateau local proposé par Bricks et Cerbère Coryphée avec comme première partie nos lillois de Sick Nerves et les Belges de Weak Link. La salle de la Brat Cave était bien rempli malgré la concurrence directe avec l’autre date du soir à savoir Landmvrks au Splendid. Mais ici, on reste dans le hardcore qui sort du flux mainstream celui qui cogne au vue de la prog, le ton est déjà donné avec du bon beatdown / breakdown comme on aime.

Sick Nerves ouvre donc cette soirée.  On commence à bien connaître le groupe qui n’est pas à son coup d’essai sur Lille. On peut une nouvelle fois profiter de l’album No Love Lost ainsi que l’ambiance mise par tout le HFHC venu en force pour soutenir le groupe dès l’ouverture. Il fallait être à l’heure pour voir les premiers moshs de la soirée. A l’image de la couleur rouge omniprésente lors du set on était sur un terrain de guerre qui annonçait une belle soirée en perspective. Le set a vu la présence de Pierre de Broken Ankles pour feat sur leur son “Hell on Earth”

Après cette belle entrée, c’est au tour de Weak Link de venir inaugurer leur première date française. On avait déjà pu voir ce que donnait le groupe en terre Belge et le résultat est toujours sans appel, c’est un déferlement de haine qui est envoyé de la part du chanteur aux mimiques atypiques. Tous les gens de la salle et le groupe se connaissent au vu de la proximité des deux scènes nordiste et belge. Le groupe a quand même réussi a conquérir les derniers curieux venus voir ce que donnait le hardcore sauce flamande. On espère les revoir en France mais sur lors du Eurocore courant Mai.

On en vient au plat de résistance avec Sorcerer. Venu défendre leur dernier album Dévotion, les Parisiens qu’on ne présente plus après leur passage à Rock in Bourlon et Hellfest commencent leur set avec les fameux sauts de Dom. Le groupe qui rentre sur une petite intro instrumentale sortie de leur album puis enchaîne les titres au singalong comme “Only God Forgives” .. Pierre revient passé une tête sur le set. On a eu tout ce qu’on aime avoir avec Sorcerer du grandiloquent contenu dans du hardcore bien brutal qui plaira aux impatients de Worst Doubt.  Malgré les problèmes de micro, le set a été une parfaite réussite pour leur retour sur nos terres lilloise

Enfin le petit dessert avec Worst Doubt. Clairement pas venu pour rester statique, les Parisiens achèvent les dernières personnes debout,  Hugo viendra même chercher le public par le col pour les faire mosher. Comme pour Sorcerer le groupe vient défendre leur dernier EP  » Immortal Pain ». On peut dire qu’en live toute la puissance brute ressort encore plus. La formation harangue la foule à se foutre sur la gueule, on assiste à une boucherie de 30-45 minutes avec un ou deux KO techniques dans le pit. Plus rien à prouver pour ces anciens de la scène qui vienne juste confirmer leur statut de grand nom de la scène Hardcore française une nouvelle fois avec un concert plein d’energie qui débordait de la Brat Cave.

La tournée pour les deux groupes parisiens commence extrêmement bien ce lundi sur Lille et  a été sublimée par les premières parties qui ont su bien chauffer la salle avant les déferlements de haine finaux. On leur souhaite une aussi bonne réussite ce dimanche 28 avril pour la grosse date sur Paris que Marye et Victor pourront vous retranscrire.

Un gros bravo à Flo, Bricks et Cerbère pour l’organisation et l’accréditation sur cette date à ne pas rater.

For this first gig of the double release tour for Worst Doubt and Sorcerer, we find a local line-up proposed by Bricks and Cerbère Coryphée, with opening acts Sick Nerves from Lille and Belgium’s Weak Link. The room fills up nicely despite direct competition with the evening’s other date, Landmvrks at Le Splendid. But here, we’re sticking with mainstream hardcore, the kind of hardcore that hits the spot when you look at the line-up, and the tone is already set with the kind of beatdown / breakdown we love.

Sick Nerves opens the evening. We’re starting to get to know the band, who are no strangers to Lille. Once again, we were able to take advantage of the No Love Lost album, as well as the atmosphere created by the whole HFHC, which had turned out in force to support the band from the very start. You had to be on time to see the first moshes of the evening. The ubiquitous red color of the set made this a war zone, heralding a great evening ahead. The set included a guest appearance by Pierre from Broken Ankles to feat on their “Hell on Earth” sound.

After this fine entrance, it was Weak Link’s turn to inaugurate their first French date. We’d already seen what the band had to offer on Belgian soil, and the result was still unmistakable: the singer, with his atypical facial expressions, unleashed an outpouring of hatred. Everyone in the room and the band know each other, given the proximity of the northern and Belgian scenes. The band still managed to win over the last few curious onlookers who had come to see what Flemish hardcore was all about. We hope to see them again in France at the Eurocore in May.

We now come to the main course with Sorcerer. Here to defend their latest album, Dévotion, the Parisians, who are no longer in the limelight after their appearances at Rock in Bourlon and Hellfest, kick off their set with the famous Dom jumps. The band kick off with a short instrumental intro from their album, followed by a series of singalong tracks such as “Only God Forgives” . Pierre comes back to take a look at the set. Sorcerer’s grandiloquent, brutal hardcore will please impatient Worst Doubt fans. Despite microphone problems, the set was a complete success for their return to Lille.

Finally, dessert with Worst Doubt. Clearly not here to remain static, the Parisians finish off the last people standing, Hugo even grabbing the audience by the collar to make them mosher. As with Sorcerer, the band defend their latest EP “Immortal Pain”. It’s fair to say that their raw power shines through even more live. The band harangues the crowd into beating the crap out of each other, and we witness a 30-45 minute butchery with one or two technical knockouts in the pit. Nothing left to prove for these veterans of the scene, who just confirmed their status as one of the great names of the French hardcore scene once again with a concert full of energy that overflowed from La Brat Cave.

The tour for the two Parisian bands got off to an extremely good start this Monday in Lille, and was enhanced by the opening acts, who warmed up the room nicely before the final outpourings of hatred. We wish them just as much success this Sunday, April 28th, for their big Paris date, which Marye and Victor will be able to transcribe for you.
