C’est dans un univers bien catchy que The Plot In You nous embarque avec « Closure ». Comme tous les titres de la formation américaine, on est sur des riffs très modernes, proche de la pop énergique. C’est sans doute « Don’t Look Away » qui marquera le plus cet EP. Avec ses riffs métalliques, un chant bien screamé et des sonorités électroniques, on sent l’influence du metalcore des années 2020 sur la composition. C’est efficace et ce titre prendra sans aucun doute une tout autre dimension en live. La batterie offre de très beaux moments qui s’associent à la perfection avec les étonnants growls pour contraster totalement avec le morceau d’ouverture de l’EP. C’est avec une voix quasiment cassé qu’on enchaine sur « All That I Can Give ». Ce titre est un peu un mélange des deux titres précédents et nous rappelle les envolées de voix à la Lucas Woodland de Holding Absence.

The Plot In You construisent petit à petit un beau petit album EP après EP. Les compositions sont toujours dans l’air du temps et se placent au cœur du metalcore moderne. On est curieux de voir comment le groupe va évoluer sur les prochains mois pour maintenir leur place dans les groupes incontournables.

The Plot In You take us into a catchy world with ‘Closure’. Like all the American band’s tracks, the riffs are very modern, close to energetic pop. It’s undoubtedly ‘Don’t Look Away’ that stands out the most on this EP. With its metallic riffs, screaming vocals and electronic sounds, you can feel the influence of 2020s metalcore on the composition. It’s effective, and this track will undoubtedly take on a whole new dimension live. The drums offer some beautiful moments that combine perfectly with the astonishing growls, in complete contrast to the EP’s opening track. All That I Can Give’ follows with a voice that’s almost broken. It’s a bit of a mix of the two previous tracks, and reminds us of the soaring vocals of Holding Absence’s Lucas Woodland.

The Plot In You are gradually building a fine little album, EP after EP. The compositions are always in tune with the times, and are right at the heart of modern metalcore. We’re curious to see how the band will evolve over the coming months to maintain their place among the essential bands.
