Quoi de mieux pour débuter cette saison que de foncer à La Bulle Café pour une belle soirée organisée par les amis de Roaring Tubes! Pour cette rentrée l’asso lilloise accueille The Lumberjack Feedback et Stone From The Sky pour une soirée qui sent bon le riff et un nombre de batterie qui nous fait nous demander comment tout ce petit monde va tenir sur scène! C’est avec plein d’entrain que nous voilà prêts pour la première soirée musicale de ce mois de septembre!

Les deux batteries de The Lumberjack Feedback occupent une grosse partie de la scène, mais Stone From The Sky ne se démontent pas et investissent La Bulle Café avec l’envie de proposer au public lillois le meilleur de Bakeneko, leur album sorti en mai dernier et qui nous avait totalement enthousiasmé! Le groupe joue fort et met tout le monde d’accord dès les premiers instants. Il faut dire que Dimitri Even, bassiste de la formation, bouge dans tout les sens malgré l’espace restreint en nous emportant avec des lignes rythmiques à tomber, sublimées par le jeu de batterie énergique de Clément Lagarrigue à la batterie. Côté guitare on se prend en pleine face les riffs percutants de Florent Sicard qui naviguent entre sonorités stoner évidentes et influences post bien présentes. Le public applaudit largement entre chaque titre et donne toute son énergie dès le début de soirée tant le set des manceaux. Le trio est en grande forme en ce début de tournée et ça se sent! Quel plaisir pour nous de découvrir les nouveaux titres en live après les avoir poncés sur album! Chaque composition joué montre à quel point le trio maîtrise la scène, à tel point qu’il est impossible de décrocher de leur prestation. On ne voit pas le temps passer tant et si bien que lorsque le groupe annonce après des remerciements chaleureux les derniers titres on est triste de ne pas avoir le droit à plus. Mais pas de soucis on se délecte de chaque note jouée par le trio et on remue au son de leur rock taillé pour le live. Vu les applaudissements en fin de set on sait que ce cinquième concert lillois ne sera pas le dernier! On espère fort voir Stone From The Sky revenir vite nous voir après ce set inoubliable!
Le changement de plateau fait, c’est au tour du combo The Lumberjack Feedback de monter sur la scène de La Bulle Café. Les deux batteurs en place et c’est parti pour une déferlante sonore du groupe lillois. On se prend en pleine face le mur de guitare et les lignes de basse surpuissantes pendant que derrière les batteries les deux musiciens alternent entre parties jouées en parfaite synchronisation et d’autres se complétant avec brio. Chaque musicien est au sommet de son art, et les titres issus de leur très belle discographie enchantent les fans venus en nombre ce soir! Evidemment l’album The Stronghold sorti en 2024 est mis en avant mais le groupe n’oublie pas le reste de sa discographie, au plus grand plaisir des fans, avec par exemple l’excellent « Therapy? » qui en enchante plus d’un.e dans l’assistance. « Failing to Witness His Mighty Work » confirme à quel point le groupe excelle dans ce mélange sonore des plus captivants, entre post métal, doom et sludge. Chaque note ravit nos oreilles et ça n’est pas « Blackened Visions » qui nous fera changer d’avis. Le public se laisse porter et applaudit à tout rompre entre chaque titre tant le groupe nous propose une prestation à tomber dans une salle si intimiste. « Kill! Kill! Kill! Die! Die! Die! » annonce que la fin est proche mais il reste le morceau titre du dernier album en date à se mettre sous la dent. Une dernière fois le groupe nous délivre un son parfait avec des envolées soniques inoubliables qui nous restent en tête de longues minutes. The Lumberjack Feedback nous ont offert un concert immanquable qui restera dans les annales de La Bulle Café. On ne pouvait rêver mieux pour démarrer cette nouvelle saison et on ressort avec l’envie de se replonger dans tous ces albums marquants offerts par le groupe lillois.

What better way to kick off the season than to head to La Bulle Café for a great evening organised by our friends at Roaring Tubes! For this new season, the Lille-based association welcomes The Lumberjack Feedback and Stone From The Sky for an evening filled with riffs and drumming that makes us wonder how everyone will fit on stage! We’re raring to go for the first musical evening of September!

The two drum sets from The Lumberjack Feedback take up a large part of the stage, but Stone From The Sky don’t let that faze them and take over La Bulle Café with the aim of giving the Lille audience the best of Bakeneko, their album released last May, which we absolutely loved! The band plays loud and wins everyone over from the very first notes. It must be said that Dimitri Even, the band’s bassist, moves around in all directions despite the limited space, carrying us away with his killer rhythmic lines, enhanced by Clément Lagarrigue‘s energetic drumming. On the guitar side, we are hit head-on by Florent Sicard‘s powerful riffs, which navigate between obvious stoner sounds and very present post influences. The audience applauds loudly between each song and gives its all from the start of the evening, such is the energy of the band from Le Mans. The trio is in great shape at the start of this tour, and it shows! What a pleasure it is for us to discover the new songs live after having listened to them on the album! Each composition played shows how well the trio masters the stage, to such an extent that it is impossible to take your eyes off their performance. Time flies by so quickly that when the band announces their last songs after warm thanks, we are sad not to be treated to more. But no worries, we revel in every note played by the trio and rock out to their live-ready rock sound. Judging by the applause at the end of the set, we know that this fifth concert in Lille won’t be their last! We really hope to see Stone From The Sky back again soon after this unforgettable set!
With the stage change complete, it’s time for The Lumberjack Feedback to take to the stage at La Bulle Café. With both drummers in place, the Lille-based band launches into a sonic onslaught. We are hit head-on by the wall of guitar and powerful bass lines, while behind the drums, the two musicians alternate between parts played in perfect synchronisation and others that complement each other brilliantly. Each musician is at the top of their game, and the tracks from their impressive discography delight the fans who have turned out in force tonight! Obviously, the album The Stronghold, released in 2024, is highlighted, but the band doesn’t forget the rest of their discography, much to the delight of their fans, with, for example, the excellent ‘Therapy?’, which enchants more than a few in the audience. ‘Failing to Witness His Mighty Work’ confirms how much the band excels in this captivating mix of post-metal, doom and sludge. Every note delights our ears, and ‘Blackened Visions’ does nothing to change our minds. The audience is carried away and applauds wildly between each song, as the band delivers a performance to die for in such an intimate venue. ‘Kill! Kill! Kill! Die! Die! Die!’ announces that the end is near, but there is still the title track from the latest album to sink your teeth into. One last time, the band delivers a perfect sound with unforgettable sonic flights that linger in our minds for long minutes. The Lumberjack Feedback gave us an unmissable concert that will go down in the annals of La Bulle Café. We couldn’t have asked for a better start to the new season, and we leave with the desire to dive back into all the memorable albums offered by this Lille-based band.
