Soyez Prêtes ! Le 30 janvier 2026 marque une nouvelle étape dans le périple du groupe de Metal français Magoyond avec la sortie en grande pompe de leur nouvel EP nommé ZEPPELIN via l’association SPZ. Fidèle à la tradition des EP en « Z », ZEPPELIN s’avère à la fois plus sombre et plus lourd que ses prédécesseurs.

À l’instar du génialissime Necropolis (2022) ou même du superbe Kryptshow (2019), ZEPPELIN a pu voir le jour grâce à une campagne de financement participatif sur Ulule fin 2024. En récoltant pas moins de 129 000 € contre 62 000 € pour Necropolis, Magoyond réalise le plus grand record de crowdfunding de l’année pour un groupe de metal en Europe et se hisse dans le top 3 toutes catégories musicales confondues depuis 2010. Un incroyable engouement qui continue d’augmenter de façon exponentielle à chaque disque ! C’est également une prouesse pour un groupe de metal français chantant en français. L’occasion donc pour le quatuor de faire de nouveau appel à un orchestre symphonique et au chœur Poséidon, ainsi qu’au mastering par le maestro suédois Tony Lindgren (Devin Townsend, Wardruna, Sepultura…). De quoi partir sur de très bonnes bases pour fournir un EP de grande qualité.
Avant sa publication, la formation parisienne a révélé la version 2025 du morceau « Aurore Motel » (Pandemia, 2012), un avant-goût de ce que ZEPPELIN nous offrira. En ayant atteint les 100 000 € (palier 10) du crowdfunding, Magoyond a donc pu réenregistrer la chanson avec un orchestre symphonique dans une version bien plus heavy, plus cinématographique et clairement plus dantesque. Un dépoussiérage bienvenu que nous avions pu découvrir en exclusivité sur scène lors du Festival Rêves de Géants à Lille en octobre dernier.
Composé de six morceaux, ZEPPELIN s’inscrit une nouvelle fois dans l’univers développé par le groupe : alors que Hector ZAM, l’empereur de la Cité des Morts Necropolis, souhaite agrandir son territoire, celui-ci a dû faire face à la résistance des trois titans (Hélios, Atlas et Océan). Il décide alors de s’enfuir à bord de son vaisseau amiral, le ZEPPELIN, accompagné d’une délégation de 10 000 zombies. Le voyage ne fait que commencer… Le premier titre, “Le Départ”, pose instantanément le décor dramatique de l’EP et relate justement ces événements. La voix grave et difforme, qu’on pourrait assimiler à l’un des titans, est agrémentée d’une musique monumentale et de sirènes accentuant le caractère apocalyptique de la situation. Necropolis est cernée, il est temps de s’enfuir !
Quoi de mieux qu’un zeppelin pour se sortir de cet endroit ? Le morceau éponyme “Zeppelin”, sans aucun doute l’hymne de ce disque, relate à présent le décollage du vaisseau. À la fois énergique et fédérateur, nous avons là ce qui fait l’ADN du groupe avec son côté Cinematic Metal. La voix de Julien « Le Mago » Escalas résonne de toute puissance au cours de ces quatre minutes. Alors que le voyage se poursuit et que l’équipage fait face à divers ennemis, “Pavillon Noir” introduit l’Amirale (une gorgone), un nouveau personnage bien décidé à vous mettre à contribution. Intrépide chanson va-t-en-guerre, le titre nous fait ressentir une certaine lourdeur rythmique qui témoigne d’un ton qui s’assombrit à mesure que le zeppelin avance. Hissez le pavillon noir et vite !
L’adrénaline des combats laisse maintenant la place à la mélancolie avec “Exil”. Morceau le plus introspectif de l’EP, l’équipage fait face à la désillusion et au désespoir. Cet aspect psychologique est retranscrit à la fois par le chant lent et grave du Mago et par les voix du chœur. De son côté, la section rythmique se veut toujours aussi lourde avec, en outre, un passage bien Metal, tranchant avec le reste du titre. Exit la torpeur de l’exil, il est l’heure d’un affrontement homérique ! “Leviathan” fait écho à la bataille mettant en scène l’équipage du Zeppelin face à cette créature légendaire. Véritable point culminant de l’intensité de l’EP, tout y est fait pour s’immerger dans ce combat : les voix, les riffs, les breakdowns… Simplement sublime !
Alors que “Soyez Prêtes” refermait Necropolis en 2022, nous avons cette fois-ci le droit à un autre discours : “We Come In Peace”. Détrompez-vous, il s’agit là d’un mensonge des plus flagrants ! Les zombies sont terriblement affamés mais croyez-le, ils viennent en paix… Cette chanson particulièrement cynique et ironique est la signature classique du quatuor tout en apportant une touche de Metal industriel décuplée par le magnifique travail de l’orchestre. Une fin de bon augure !
À travers ce voyage rocambolesque dans le Zeppelin, Magoyond signe un EP magistralement ancré dans son univers et ne fait pas les choses à moitié. Le retour d’un orchestre symphonique et d’un chœur, allié à l’expertise de Tony Lindgren au mastering, constitue véritablement la formule gagnante qui permettra à la formation parisienne d’atteindre les sommets. On a déjà hâte de voir où ce maudit dirigeable nous emmènera ensuite ! Il ne nous reste plus qu’à prendre notre mal en patience…

Be Prepared! January 30th 2026 marks a new milestone in the journey of French metal band Magoyond with the grand release of their new EP, ZEPPELIN, via the SPZ association. True to the tradition of ‘Z’ EPs, ZEPPELIN is both darker and heavier than its predecessors.
Like the brilliant Necropolis (2022) and the superb Kryptshow (2019), ZEPPELIN was made possible thanks to a crowdfunding campaign on Ulule at the end of 2024. By raising no less than €129,000 compared to €62,000 for Necropolis, Magoyond achieved the biggest crowdfunding record of the year for a metal band in Europe and climbed into the top 3 across all musical categories since 2010. An incredible craze that continues to grow exponentially with each album! It is also a remarkable achievement for a French metal band singing in French. This is an opportunity for the quartet to once again call on a symphony orchestra and the Poséidon choir, as well as mastering by Swedish maestro Tony Lindgren (Devin Townsend, Wardruna, Sepultura, etc.). This provides a very good foundation for producing a high-quality EP.
Before its release, the Parisian band unveiled the 2025 version of the track ‘Aurore Motel’ (Pandemia, 2012), giving us a taste of what ZEPPELIN has in store for us. A welcome revamp that we were able to discover exclusively on stage at the Festival Rêves de Géants in Lille last October.

The journey has only just begun… The first track, ‘Le Départ’, instantly sets the dramatic scene for the EP and recounts these events. The deep, distorted voice, reminiscent of one of the titans, is accompanied by monumental music and sirens, accentuating the apocalyptic nature of the situation. Necropolis is surrounded, it’s time to flee!
What better way to get out of this place than in a zeppelin? The eponymous track ‘Zeppelin’, undoubtedly the anthem of this album, now recounts the ship’s take-off. Both energetic and unifying, this track embodies the band’s DNA with its cinematic metal style. Julien ‘Le Mago’ Escalas‘ voice resonates with power throughout these four minutes. As the journey continues and the crew faces various enemies, ‘Pavillon Noir’ introduces the Admiral (a gorgon), a new character determined to put you to work. An intrepid, warlike song, the track gives us a sense of rhythmic heaviness that reflects a tone that darkens as the zeppelin advances. Hoist the black flag, quick!
The adrenaline rush of battle now gives way to melancholy with ‘Exil’. The most introspective track on the EP, the crew faces disillusionment and despair. This psychological aspect is conveyed both by Mago‘s slow, deep vocals and by the choir’s voices. For its part, the rhythm section is as heavy as ever, with a metal passage that contrasts sharply with the rest of the track. Gone is the torpor of exile, it’s time for an epic confrontation! ‘Leviathan’ echoes the battle between the Zeppelin crew and this legendary creature. A true climax of the EP’s intensity, everything is done to immerse the listener in this battle: the vocals, the riffs, the breakdowns… Simply sublime!
While ‘Soyez Prêtes’ (Be Prepared from The Lion King) closed Necropolis in 2022, this time we are treated to a different message: ‘We Come In Peace’. Make no mistake, this is a blatant lie! The zombies are terribly hungry, but believe it or not, they come in peace… This particularly cynical and ironic song is the quartet’s classic signature, while adding a touch of industrial metal enhanced by the magnificent work of the orchestra. A promising end!
Through this incredible journey in the Zeppelin, Magoyond has created an EP that is masterfully rooted in his universe and doesn’t do things by halves. The return of a symphony orchestra and choir, combined with Tony Lindgren‘s mastering expertise, is truly the winning formula that will allow the Parisian band to reach new heights. We can’t wait to see where this cursed airship will take us next! All we have to do now is be patient…
