Si vous lisez nos lignes, vous commencez à bien connaître les lillois de Alzamün. Leurs morceaux rock psyché nous ont déjà conquis en live, et c’est donc avec une grande joie qu’on vous propose de partir à la découverte de leur EP. Sobrement intitulé Vol.1, il sera disponible dès le 17 juin au autoproduction. Quatre titres pour une première carte de visite musicale qui annonce de bien belles choses!

Pour ce premier EP d’un duo de sortie, dont la seconde est prévue pour l’automnes, le groupe lillois nous propose de découvrir son côté le plus énergique avec une grosse dose de fuzz qui commence avec « Ambush ». Dès ce titre on voit que le trio lillois a beaucoup travaillé pour que le son soit massif. La guitare sonne fort et les rythmiques sont un pur plaisir pour les oreilles. Le trio montre dès le premier titre son énergie et laisse une forte emprunte dans nos tympans. « Carbon » est lourd et hypnotique à souhait et nous plonge un peu plus loin dans l’univers du trio déjà bien installé grâce au superbe travail de Pedrodactyl sur la pochette. Evidemment quatre titres ça va vite mais le groupe prends le temps et nous offre un « Inside Your Dream » qui colle parfaitement à son titre avec ce côté vaporeux dans les voix et ce côté fuzz toujours bien présent et des rythmiques à vous faire danser dans votre salon. Pour clôturer cette première sortie le groupe balance « Echo Magic », dont on vous laisse découvrir le superbe clip DIY à souhait en fin d’article, et ses quatre minutes énergiques en diable. Quoi de mieux pour terminer cet EP qu’un titre où le groupe donne toute sa joie de vivre au service de la musique! L’enthousiasme est total et on a déjà envie de se repasser ce disque en boucle, en espérant fort une sortie physique prochaine.
Avec ce premier EP, Alzamün frappent fort avec une univers bien encré, un son efficace à souhait et une proposition solide. On sent qu’ils ont pris le temps et ça s’entend! On ne peut que vous encourager à partir à la découverte de leur univers si ça n’est pas déjà fait et à suivre de près leurs futures dates. En tout cas de notre côté on ne manquera pas ça et on attend avec impatience le second volume de ce diptyque. Encore une fois la scène lilloise montre toute sa force pour notre plus grand plaisir!

If you’re reading this, you’re probably already quite familiar with the Lille-based band Alzamün. Their psychedelic rock tracks have already won us over in a live setting, so it is with great pleasure that we invite you to discover their EP. Simply titled Vol.1, it will be available from 17 June via their own label. Four tracks make for a first musical introduction that promises great things to come!
On this debut EP from a duo set to release their second this autumn, the Lille-based band invites us to discover their most energetic side with a heavy dose of fuzz, kicking off with “Ambush”. Right from this track, it’s clear that the Lille trio has worked hard to achieve a massive sound. The guitar sounds loud and the rhythms are a pure delight to the ears. Right from the first track, the trio displays its energy and leaves a strong impression on our eardrums. “Carbon” is as heavy and hypnotic as you could wish for, drawing us a little deeper into the trio’s world, which is already well established thanks to Pedrodactyl’s superb work on the cover art. Of course, four tracks go by quickly, but the band takes its time and treats us to “Inside Your Dream”, which lives up perfectly to its title with its dreamy vocals, ever-present fuzz, and rhythms that’ll have you dancing in your living room. To round off this debut release, the band serves up ‘Echo Magic’, whose superb DIY music video you can check out at the end of the article, along with its four devilishly energetic minutes. What better way to finish this EP than with a track where the band pours all their joie de vivre into the music! The enthusiasm is palpable and we’re already itching to play this record on repeat, hoping fervently for a physical release soon.
With this debut EP, Alzamün make a strong impression with a well-defined sound, a perfectly polished style and a solid offering. You can tell they’ve taken their time, and it shows! We can only encourage you to explore their world if you haven’t already, and to keep a close eye on their upcoming dates. In any case, we won’t be missing it and we’re eagerly awaiting the second instalment of this diptych. Once again, the Lille scene is showing its full strength, much to our delight!
