Plus d’un an après la sortie de l’EP Le but du Je et en parallèle de ses activités sur YouTube, David “McFly” Coscas reprend sa guitare et repart en tournée avec son projet solo du nom de DaviD. Accompagné de ses amis, le rockeur youtubeur français débute ce tour 2026 avec rien de moins qu’un passage au Black Lab à côté de Lille le 4 juin 2026. De quoi démarrer en beauté !

Contrairement à l’extérieur, il fait déjà chaud à l’intérieur de la salle wasquehalienne. En effet, le Black Lab s’est rempli très tôt par de nombreux fans et l’ambiance s’avère déjà bouillante avant même que les lumières ne s’éteignent. Avant l’arrivée du groupe, on peut déjà apercevoir en fond de scène, derrière la batterie, un grand néon à l’effigie de la formation. Vient le moment où le chanteur et guitariste pose le pied sur les planches et soudain, le public, venu en masse, explose de joie. Le set s’ouvre immédiatement sur l’énergique “Si seulement”. Visiblement très heureux d’être ici, David et ses comparses, dont Benoît le batteur originaire de Croix, donnent le ton et les spectateurs répondent largement présents ! La glace est brisée immédiatement, c’est le moins qu’on puisse dire ! Après s’être essayé de prononcer, non sans difficulté, Wasquehal, le frontman enchaîne avec le titre éponyme “Le but du je”.
Mais ne croyez pas que la soirée ne sera placée que sous le signe de ce fameux EP, puisqu’elle réserve bien des surprises, à commencer par une véritable explosion d’énergie. « L’échauffement est terminé », prévient David. Promesse tenue avec la cover de “Satisfaction” (Benny Benassi) avec son riff simplement énorme et terriblement lourd. David en profite pour s’amuser avec les spectateurs, leur proposant de s’asseoir avant que tout explose au moment du drop puis s’offre un bain de foule en crowdsurfing pour une fin de morceau en apothéose. Ce n’est pas tout puisqu’après un beau solo en guise d’entracte de la part du guitariste (et Chef OPS dans la vraie vie) Martin Bonami, “Traversée” enfonce le clou avec un gros wall of death ordonné par le chanteur. Une scène géniale à laquelle on ne s’attendait pas forcément ce soir ! Même avec “Abysses”, la reprise de Vald, ou lors de la cover de l’iconique “Numb” de Linkin Park qui fait immédiatement mouche auprès de la fosse, les influences metal sont là, notamment grâce à plusieurs screams consécutifs. La folie atteint son paroxysme avec une cover bien énervée de “Bande organisée”, transformant le « zumba caféw » en un drop heavy massif, servi par un riff ultra groovy. Le public lillois est littéralement en feu !
Si la soirée s’avère explosive, le concert sait néanmoins se faire plus intimiste. C’est le cas lorsque David se confie sur sa relation avec son frère Sacha, avec qui il avait perdu contact pendant près de cinq à dix ans avant de renouer récemment. Un moment touchant qui introduit superbement “Petit prince”. Toujours inséparables, David fait aussi plaisir aux fans en appelant son ami de toujours, Raphaël “Carlito” Carlier, afin de teaser un mashup véritablement explosif entre “Ok boomer” et “Sweet dreams (Are Made of This)” de Eurythmics. Cette générosité se retrouve également lorsque le quatuor nous propose “Quart de Lune”, jouée en totale exclusivité pour la toute première fois, ou lorsqu’il fait chanter un Joyeux anniversaire en chœur pour les 36 ans de P.E., le régisseur général.
Le rappel est là et tandis que Thomas Pawlicki, un spectateur pas si inconnu que ça, habitué des salles et festivals de la région, déguisé comme le célèbre personnage de « Où est Charlie ? » entame un clapping, le groupe revient avec “Drapeau” pour mettre le point final à cette soirée, le Black Lab chantant en chœur les paroles de ce titre.
Quel concert dantesque nous a proposé DaviD ! Si certains pouvaient douter de son âme de rockeur au détriment de son âme de youtubeur, il n’en est rien. Mcfly et ses copains nous ont offert un set de folie, ne laissant que peu de répit aux fans présents ce soir et pourtant, cela n’a pas empêché d’avoir des séquences plus émotives et humoristiques. Si dans “Drapeau”, il chante « vivre à moitié », on sent que le frontman n’a justement rien fait à moitié ce soir, comme en témoignent les nombreuses gouttes de sueur et les sourires béants affichés sur les têtes des spectateurs ici présents.

More than a year after the release of the EP Le but du Je and alongside his YouTube activities, David “McFly” Coscas is picking up his guitar again and heading back on tour with his solo project, DaviD. Accompanied by his friends, the French rocker and YouTuber kicks off this 2026 tour with nothing less than a gig at the Black Lab near Lille on June 4th 2026. What a way to get things off to a flying start!

Unlike outside, it’s already hot inside the venue in Wasquehal. Indeed, the Black Lab filled up very early with crowds of fans, and the atmosphere is already electric even before the lights go down. Before the band takes to the stage, a large neon sign bearing the band’s name can already be seen at the back of the stage, behind the drums. The moment arrives when the singer and guitarist steps onto the stage, and suddenly the crowd, which has turned out in droves, erupts with joy. The set kicks off immediately with the energetic “Si seulement”. Clearly delighted to be here, David and his bandmates, including drummer Benoît from Croix, set the tone and the audience responds in droves! The ice is broken immediately, to say the least! After attempting, not without difficulty, to pronounce “Wasquehal”, the frontman follows up with the title track “Le but du je”.
But don’t think the evening will be all about that famous EP, as it has plenty of surprises in store, starting with a real burst of energy. “The warm-up is over,” warns David. He keeps his word with a cover of “Satisfaction” (Benny Benassi), featuring a riff that’s simply massive and incredibly heavy. David takes the opportunity to have some fun with the audience, asking them to sit down before everything explodes at the drop, then treats himself to a crowd-surfing session for a spectacular finale to the track. That’s not all, because after a brilliant solo as an interlude from guitarist (and Head of Operations in real life) Martin Bonami, “Traversée” drives the point home with a massive wall of death ordered by the singer. An amazing scene we weren’t necessarily expecting tonight! Even with “Abysses”, the Vald cover, or during the cover of Linkin Park’s iconic “Numb” which immediately hits the mark with the pit, the metal influences are there, particularly thanks to several consecutive screams. The madness reaches its peak with a frenzied cover of “Bande organisée”, transforming the “zumba caféw” into a massive heavy drop, driven by an ultra-groovy riff. The Lille crowd is literally on fire!
Although the evening turned out to be electric, the concert also had its more intimate moments. This was the case when David opened up about his relationship with his brother Sacha, with whom he had lost touch for nearly five to ten years before recently reconnecting. A touching moment that serves as a superb introduction to “Petit prince”. Still inseparable, David also delights the fans by calling his lifelong friend, Raphaël “Carlito” Carlier, to tease a truly explosive mashup between “Ok boomer” and “Sweet dreams (Are Made of This)” by the Eurythmics. This generosity is also evident when the quartet treats us to “Quart de Lune”, performed exclusively for the very first time, or when they lead the crowd in a chorus of “Happy Birthday” for P.E., the stage manager, on his 36th birthday.
The encore is here, and as Thomas Pawlicki, a spectator not quite so unknown, a regular at the region’s venues and festivals, dressed as the famous character from “Where’s Waldo?”—starts clapping, the band returns with “Drapeau” to bring the evening to a close, with the Black Lab singing the lyrics of the track in unison.
What a spectacular concert DaviD treated us to! While some might have doubted his rocker credentials in favour of his YouTuber persona, that certainly isn’t the case. McFly and the lads delivered a mind-blowing set, giving the fans in attendance tonight hardly a moment’s respite, yet that didn’t stop them from delivering some deeply emotional and humorous moments. Although in “Drapeau” he sings “living half-heartedly”, you could tell that the frontman certainly didn’t do anything half-heartedly tonight, as evidenced by the beads of sweat and the beaming smiles on the faces of the audience members here.
