#Album : Miss May I – No Place For Me (02/10/2026)

IntitulĂ© No Place For Me, ce huitiĂšme album du combo de l’Ohio, sera disponible le 2 octobre prochain via Solid State Records.

No Place For Me est une superbe sortie de Miss May I!

Having seen them live at the Black Lab last March, it’s time to tell you about the brand-new album from the American band Miss May I, a group that’s been thrilling us for many years. Entitled No Place For Me, this eighth album from the Ohio-based band will be released on October 2nd via Solid State Records. Needless to say, we can’t wait to dive into these ten new tracks, as the singles have already won us over both live and in the studio.

The intro riff played by Elisha Mullins on “Sanctuary” plunges us straight into everything we love about this American band, before Jerod Boyd’s drums blow us away with a mind-blowing rhythm section. You can already sense that the band are out to make their mark with this new album, and they’ve succeeded. The melody is punchy and demonstrates that the band know how to push forward with every new release. Levi Benton’s vocals, as ever, are a delight to the ears, and are complemented by the sublime clean vocals of Ryan Neff, who also plays bass in the band. Tracks like “Portrait Of Pain” and “Hand Me A Halo” showcase the very best of the band’s melodic metalcore, with razor-sharp, perfectly melodic riffs, rhythms that’ll make your neck snap, and vocal parts that make you want to sing along. The power of the second track mentioned is reinforced by what Levi says about it: « If I can’t make it through the anxiety, then you might as well just let me die and give me my halo. » So the emotion is intense, and “Pray For Silence” certainly isn’t going to bring us back down to earth, with its perfect balance of screamed and clean vocals. The themes in “Death Threat” are just as heavy as on some of their previous tracks, yet it retains that infectious energy, which has been one of the band’s real strengths since their early days. Suffice to say, you’ll find yourself wanting to mosh in your living room whilst being moved by what the lyrics convey. Next comes the single “Die On The Vine”, which has already been a highlight of the band’s live sets since its release, and which reminds us just how much the band still has in store to surprise us. Indeed, this track sounds as if it’s straight out of a Trivium album, and that’s a compliment! No frills here, unlike much of what modern metalcore has to offer; just tracks that grab you and never let go. “Bury Me Down” gives Levi another chance to show us that his scream is one of the most consistent on the scene, and that, year after year, he still manages to captivate us. The riffs on “Ashes Of The Altar” are simply masterful and give way to epic bass lines delivered by Ryan, who is definitely at the top of his game. This track is clearly set to become a live staple, as it’s bound to get the mosh pits going. Finally, the album closes with “Highbrow Thieves”, which tells the story of Levi’s struggle to juggle three jobs alongside his music to make ends meet (welcome to the United States!). This track leaves the listener in no doubt, with a massive sound that leaves us wanting nothing more than to play the album on repeat.

No Place For Me is a superb release from Miss May I! The American band continue to strike a brilliant balance between power and emotion, delivering tracks that instantly stick in your head! We can’t recommend highly enough that you rush out and listen to it as soon as it’s released, and as for us, whilst we wait for their return, we’re off to give it another listen straight away!
