#Album : Earthbong – Salutations to the Cultivators (23/10/2026)

Three years on from the powerful Church Of Bong, it’s time to catch up with the German band Earthbong for a new, smoke-filled adventure. This fourth album, entitled Salutations to the Cultivators, a reference to a line from Sleep’s track “Giza Butler”, will be available via The Lasting Dose Records from 23 October. Four tracks featuring slow, heavy riffs and rhythms, what better way to set off on another sonic journey with the band from Kiel?

The trio sets the tone right from the start of “Bug”! We’re treated to that sound where fuzz pedals abound and the instrument settings plunge us into the depths of sonic heaviness, only to lift our spirits higher amidst the smoke. Ten minutes of a wildly powerful journey in which the band reminds us that they are a major force on the stoner doom scene! We’re hit right in the face by the riffs, much to our delight, whilst the vocals catch us off guard for a few moments, featuring some truly captivating vocal distortion. The band is at the peak of its artistry and, with this opening track, delivers an album opener that demonstrates just how carefully each note is weighed to strike our souls with all its might. Next comes ‘Third Eye’ and its desire to hypnotise us a little further with an ever-more-massive sound. Here, the vocals take centre stage with the presence of Feli from Frost, Pisse & Elend. The singer captivates with her powerful vocals, which blend perfectly with the musical atmosphere set by Earthbong and the powerful vocal lines of Selly (bass). You can check out the track at the end of this article, and we promise it’ll really blow your eardrums away. “Harvester” surprises with a first section that’s more stoner-oriented and less heavy, demonstrating that the three Germans also have a flair for melody, alongside an incredible ability to deliver the heaviest music imaginable. And it is precisely this slower, doom-laden sound that reasserts itself in the second half of the tracks, making this track a wonderful moment of variety on this thoroughly exhilarating album. The final track treats us to a good fifteen minutes or so of the German trio at their very best. The sound is like a concrete block resting on our heads, much to our delight. On this final track, the band welcomes Timo Fritz of Purple Dawn for a solo for the ages. But it is the gentle conclusion of the track that brings our journey through the bong smoke to a close, a sign that the band has set out to leave us spellbound from the very first to the very last second of this record.

With Salutations to the Cultivators, Earthbong adds another standout track to an already highly successful discography. We recognise the band’s signature sound here; they know how to set themselves apart from their peers in the genre with a strong identity that’s instantly recognisable from the very first minute. But the German band also knows how to introduce variations to this identity, making this release a real step forward for a band that, album after album, demonstrates its ability to evolve and further cement its smoky grip on our souls.
